This is an extremely rare truck due to the model itself, option package, and especially the low mileage and exceptional condition. I need to make this clear: This is a well-maintained survivor, not a restoration. The difference being that this Jeep has some imperfections - I drive it almost every day. I also drive it around my farm regularly, so the undercarriage is dirty. It is a 41 year old Jeep, so you can expect to replace a quart of fluids every now and then. It doesn't leak sieve, it just needs an eye kept on it every few months as you would with any older car.
The entire drivetrain is numbers matching original. Only what needed to be replaced or rebuilt (degraded/wearable/rubber, etc.) was done.
A few modifications were made within the engine compartment to simplify the extensive vacuum and ignition systems and improve reliability: Only the necessary vacuum lines were left in place and/or replaced. The smog pump system was removed. An HEI (integrated coil) distributor was installed. A non-EGR edelbrock manifold was installed, along with an electric-choke 1407 4-barrel carburetor. I have the original brackets, manifold, A/C compressor (not installed), etc. that will be boxed up and sent with the Jeep at sale.
I have owned this Jeep for 4 years (55,000 Miles at the time) and personally done ALL of the work to it - therefore I don't have receipts for the work. If it makes you feel any better, I will gladly source as many parts invoices as I can find. Over the last 4 years, I have replaced a lot of common parts to get this Jeep to the point of being a very reliable daily commuter. The following has been replaced or done in the last 2.5 years:
Alternator, battery, regulator, wires, HEI distributor, plugs and wires, all fluids, water pump, radiator restoration and test, all hoses, heater core, transmission rebuild, head gaskets, 3 angle valve job and heads decked professionally, valve seals, valve springs, valve cover gaskets, intake manifold, carburetor, air filter, fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel soft lines, brakes at all four corners in last 3 months, brake master cyl and booster, brake wheel cylinders, headlights, dimmer switch, bfg tires, wheel vintiques gray primer wheels with center caps.
The Jeep cranks up and drives beautifully. It also has the added on low-range kit. I drive it about 1000miles per month.
Here is the short list of things that do not work:
- A/C. The 41 y/o compressor seized. I took it off, but never replaced it. I believe they are about $230 on rock auto, and I'll include the brackets. It worked great until the compressor seized! Heat works well.
- Parking brake is not connected. Hasn't been since I owned it.
- The radio works for the most part, but it is moody! You have to treat it well and finesse the knobs to keep it happy.
- There are a couple of seam tears in the front seats. They're in good shape, there are just a couple of seam splits. That's why I use the wood bead seat covers! They could likely be repaired at a reputable upholstery shop.
It is 98% rust free. I mean REALLY this Jeep is REALLY quite rust free. There are a couple of tiny spots scattered around the body where paint has chipped from normal road rash and there is a little (seriously little) surface rust. The only real rust is behind the "upper class trailer trash" sticker on the tailgate. It's about the size of a coin. Beyond that, you won't find any at all. It's perfectly solid.

Please feel free to text or email with questions IF you are a serious buyer. I don't mean to be rude, but I don't have time for a lot of questions unless it leads to a sale. I am not interested an any trades at all, I am interested in a cash sale to put money back in the bank for things of higher priority for my family. If you text or email me, please provide some personal information and specific information about the ad so I know you are not a scammer or robot.
Also for local sale... (respectfully) please do not text or call me asking for the "lowest cash price." The deal is cash only anyway...
I do not negotiate price via text. If you are a serious buyer, please come look at the Jeep at your convenience and make an offer. The offer should somewhat resemble my asking price
