1994 Jeep Wrangler S
2.5L 4 cyl, 198,000 miles (I think it was rebuilt by the owner who redid carpet and seats, but no proof)
5 speed, recent fluid change
4" suspension lift
4.88 gears front/rear with locker in the rear diff, recent fluid change
Recent tune up including plugs, wires, cap/rotor button, air filter, fuel filter, thermostat and coolant flush
Newer 33x12.50 tires with maybe 3,000 miles on them
New motor and transmission mounts
Newer starter and fuel pump
New master cylinder with brake fluid flush, new rear shoes/springs
BestTop top with tinted rear windows that are a few years old in good shape, but not perfect
Has "Spiderwebshade" mesh full bikini top (stays on under soft top, so you don't have to remove it when putting the top back up)
JVC CD player with newer speakers in the front dash and sound bar
Seats were recovered and carpet replaced a few years ago
Doesn't burn oil or smoke -- needs no oil between oil changes
2 year old 9500lb winch
New steering stabilizer in the front
Has WORKING A/C (rare option on YJs, even more rare for it to still work)
Clean and clear TN title, in hand and ready to sign over
Only problems is a slow leaking axle seal on the pass/front side and the e-brake cable broke and I haven't replaced it yet. The axle seal has leaked so slowly (just a drop everyone once in a while) that I've just added some gear oil once a year or so and not taken the time to replace the seal.
Runs great, very reliable. We have taken it on all day trips that included interstate, two-lane country road, and light off road driving, and have never been stranded. Because of the 4.88 gears you can run 75mph on the interstate with no problems. This Jeep is the perfect mix of off road capable with the lift (done right) and tires, but still streetable and easy to handle on the road for those fun weekend drives. Steering is relativelytight and not wobbly (no death wobble) and not scary at high speeds. The Jeep rides solid at highway speeds and is very reliable, whether creeping around on a trail or commuting and running up and down the road.Keep in mind that it IS a lifted 25 year old Jeep with 33" mud tires, however. Pictures include typical condition of the frame and underbody, all rust is surface rust on the frame, nothing rotted. It can be sanded down and repainted, but I left it as is so that a buyer doesn't think I'm trying to hide a rusty frame. This IS a Jeep that was enjoyed both on and OFF the road, so there are some scratches, paint chips, and a couple of dents, but no major body damage. I tried to get pics of the paint chips and part of a slightly crumped spot in the passenger side front fender, to the left of the turn signal, see pics for more detail. The top shows some age, but all zippers work without sticking and you would have no problem putting the top down or up.
The pictures I took show that it hasn't been cleaned well in a month or so thanks to either freezing cold or rainy weather -- I just took about 20-30 min to go over it quickly before posting. It can be shined up very nice, but this still gives you an idea of the condition. I paid $5600 a couple of years ago for this Jeep because it already had the lift, locker, and 4.88 gears and then have easily put over $2000 in tires ($1000), winch ($500), tune up, and other work done to make it more reliable and streetable. You may find a plain YJ for a little bit cheaper, but if it needs tires, a lift, and mechanical things, won't have working AC, and then it's going to add up very, very quickly, so keep that in mind when shopping around.
The 4 wheel drive system works without problems, shifting into 4 low and 4 high without binding or issues. While I never offroaded it hard, there were times where I needed to use the 4x4 system and it worked flawlessly every time and got me going again. The part time locker in the rear works excellent and makes sure that both wheels turn where there is low traction, meaning I would still be in 2WD when friends in 4x4s without a locked rear would spin and need to put it in 4WD. The 4 cylinder motor doesn't smoke or use oil and doesn't run hot even on the hottest summer days, happily clattering along with that 2.5L lifter sound they all have.
I am aware of all the scams and will not ship the Jeep overseas, take a money order/cashier's check you mail me, etc. You bid/buy the Jeep, pay the REQUIRED $200 PayPal deposit (unless we work something else out in advance), then come within 7 days with cash to pay the balance and pickup the Jeep. If you do not pay within 7 days you forfeit the deposit.
Please message me for more details or pictures, I'll be happy to tell you everything I can about the Jeep. I have owned it 4 years or so and am only selling because I now have more small kids than seatbelts, so we never get to enjoy it as a family anymore and I only get to drive it to work or running errands by myself. It has always been a Southern Jeep, starting ownership in South Carolina before going to Southern Kentucky and then Tennessee. The previous owner kept it for over 8 years, and I've had it over 4, so it's been been passed around. The vehicle history report available on this listing shows only 5 owners for its entire 25 year life, with no issues (click the "Vehicle History Report" tab, next to the description tab to view the report).
Youtube Videos:
(The last one is a slower pace on a 2-lane road with a 'hard stop' where I DO NOT hit the brakes as hard or quickly as I can, but just try to stop fairly quickly. This shows how well the brakes work, even though they're not stopping large 33x12.50 tires)
