Description

Please read the entire description before bidding on this as I have done my best to describe everything about this vehicle…..

This is a No Reserve Auction. As soon as there is one bid the vehicle will sell. If you do not have the necessary funds please do not waste your time or mine. eBay is only as good as the weakest link/user. If you look at my rating you know I am very willing to hold up my end of the deal and make every effort to make things go smoothly. All I ask is that you have the same goals and attitude.

I had always wanted a pre-smog Jeep to "play with" and had even considered doing a Diesel swap with this vehicle when I purchased it around Thanksgiving 2015 but the motor is so fresh it would be a shame not to put another 100,000 on it first.
Since then we have acquired a 2006 Jeep Liberty CRD Diesel (Plus I have realized at 6'0 360 lbs I am not "CJ5 Size"
As much as I would love to keep both the driveway is only so big and my wife (and 16 year old daughter who is shopping for her own SUV) have given me an ultimatum so I have no choice but to part with a couple cars and this is one of them.
I would be happy to answer any questions and/or take any pictures you would like just please feel free to ask. The car starts right up....even if you let it sit for a 2-3 weeks.Transmission shifts properlyBrakes are goodTires have very low miles on them (still look practically new)The convertible top looks to be in very good shape and is certainly not the original.Floor is very solid (even has the secret storage compartment under the front passenger seat)This also comes with the hard top and solid doors that I acquired but never even installed on the Jeep. they came from another 1974 CJ5 so I assume there shouldn't be any fitment issues but full disclosure I never tried.
There are really only 6 bad parts to this Jeep as I see it but then again it is a Jeep so please don't expect pristine carpet. 1. The stereo does not turn on but I have not spent any time researching why. 2. The obvious pictures I have included with some rust. 3. The transfer case is stuck in 4-High. So IO just unlock the hubs for 2wd and lock them for 4wd but in its current state it does not have 4 low. 4. The retention clips between the windshield and the dashboard rattle and drive me crazy. 5. One piece of glass on the Hard Top / Hard Doors is broken. 6. The alternator tests fine but does not seem to produce electricity. Comes with a new one too but I have the same result with that one!!!
***Please also keep in mind this qualifies as a collector car so you can get a collector car insurance policy where you pick the value rather than trusting the Kelly Blue Book. We were able to insure it with a $10,000 replacement value for under $200 a year (I can dig up the exact information for the buyer so they can switch it straight across to their policy with Haggerty Insurance)
Other than that it has bumps and bruises and stains as you would expect from a car that is now 42 years old but for the price if it goes for less than $8000 I think it is a steal.
First $500 must be received within 48 hours of auction ending. Balance within 7 days of Auction end.
Willing to help in any way to get this Jeep to a good home. I would be willing to deliver it anywhere in the US or Canada for $1.00 per mile providing everything was paid up front (I am helpful not stupid).
Happy bidding!!!
