1986 Jeep CJ CJ7- 4.2L Automatic 4x4
Description
1986 Jeep CJ7 with 4.2L 6cyl and Automatic Transmission
I have owned this Jeep for 7 years and selling because I do not use it and don't have room for it since moving. I have never off-roaded this Jeep other than county dirt roads. Its not been beaten. I have only put about 3500 miles on it since I bought it. Mainly just use it for a weekend toy. Many upgrades and options put into the Jeep over the years.
Body: I purchased it after the previous owner refinished the body and paint. It has tubular bumpers and side steps. Rear bumper has a hitch receiver.Chrome brackets on the hood, windshield, chrome grill cover and dash cover, chrome mirrors and brackets. The hood emblem is just a vinyl sticker if you want to remove it.I upgraded the headlights to Cibie, added Hella Blackout Offroad lights and it has new signal lenses. I have also freshened up many of the seals.
I have 3 tops for the Jeep- 1 fiberglass hard top, 1 bikini top, and 1 new full soft top. The soft top has zip-out windows and will fold back/recline so you don't have to take it completely off. It also has a flip-back top like a sunroof. The interior carpeting is all new. It has chrome knobs for the vents and heater controls. There are no tears in the seats. The rear bench seat will fold and flip up.It has a new CD player and speakers in the dash and 6x9 speaker boxes in the rear.It has the Bushwacker Fender Flares.
The hard doors are in good shape- no rust.
Engine: The 4.2L was rebuilt by the previous owner. New fly wheel and starter, Motocraft carb and Nutter by-pass. New ECM. Dual Exhaust. New alternator.
Drive line: 4x4 is all functional. 33" BFG tires with excellent tread. Warn aluminum wheels. I put new polyurethane bushings in the springs. New high ratio steering box and steering damper. New polyurethane transmission mount. New power brakes and lines.
Overall this is about as nice as you can get in a CJ without doing a full Frame-Off. If you are looking for a good donor for a project this would be a good place to start, or just drive it as is.
The horn is not functional. The temp/fuel gauge is not working right now. I haven't had a chance to fix it. Its blowing the fuse so one of the gauges must be bad. The fiberglass top is cracked on the front corners. I purchased it that way but have never used it. Would need some fiberglass work. The glass is all in good shape.
Current location is Pittsburgh even though the pics show WV plates. Contact me with questions.I will take cash, check, money order- just no Paypal.
