classic vintage chrome suv 4x4 cj7 258 v6 manual transmission champagne
Description
This 1983 Jeep CJ7 Renegade is only about 3400 miles beyond a thorough, frame off restoration and ever since going back into service it's been driven carefully and never on corrosive, salted roads. There's been a substantial amount of time and money invested to elevate this vintage ride to its current level of awesomeness, and it's in top form to provide its next lucky owner with plenty of future memories, both on and off the asphalt.
Clad in striking Champagne Gold paint, with crisp Renegade lettering on its hood, this CJ7 has a vibrant, capable look. It spent its fair share under the spray gun to attain its memorable appearance - you won't find paint jobs much more comprehensive than the one it features, as it entailed an extensive application of basecoat, sealer and urethane. It's well fitted from all angles, with custom dual tube bumpers in both front and back and a pair of matching jet-black step bars at its sides. A new light package straddles a custom front grille to add some aftermarket presence and the added Pro Comp lift kit raises this classic about 2.5" – enough to add some wheel clearance to better navigate rough terrain while keeping its vintage presence thoroughly intact. Should the weather turn while you're out blazing a path, the accompanying removable hard top features clean, tinted windows and has been sealed to better withstand the elements.
Plenty of attention has been lavished upon the interior as well. A pair of nicely contoured bucket seats are in place at the front of the cabin and they straddle a clean, lockable center console that provides both welcome interior storage space and a convenient home for the added AM/FM/CD stereo, which pairs with a set of MTX speakers to fill the cabin with sound. Farther forward, a Grant GT steering wheel takes the place of the original on the column and the dash area sports an instrument panel filled with new gauges. Take a closer look at this portion of the interior and you'll notice the array of sharp billet knobs that are now on display. The surrounding color matched steel is sharply painted and the pad spanning the top of the dash is free of any cracking. In a ride as versatile as this one, air conditioning is always a welcome feature, and the underdash unit that's been added here is in top form to keep things comfortable.
The 258-cubic inch inline 6 under the hood was only recently added and it's just now emerging from its "break-in" stage. It's surrounded by an array of new components, including the water pump, fuel pump, distributor, ignition and wires, and alternator. Fed by a factory-correct 2 barrel carb, the engine pairs with a smooth shifting 4-speed manual transmission that was rebuilt not long ago, so this is a very fresh drivetrain. You'll find upgraded axles at both ends, and the 4-wheel drive on this CJ7 is in good working order to supply plenty of off-road agility. In the interest of enhanced dependability, the cooling system was also replaced, as well as the entire collection of hoses in the engine compartment, and an aftermarket Painless Wiring harness was incorporated into the mix. With its power steering and power brakes that position discs up front, this vintage Jeep has the manners you'd want in a frequent driver as it patrols roads both paved and unpaved on its set of 17" American Racing wheels outfitted with Mickey Thompson Baja STZ tires.
Professionally restored and wearing an ultra-sharp exterior color, this 1983 Jeep CJ7 Renegade represents quite a compelling opportunity. Call today!
