Description

Due to moving soon need to let go of some of my projects. Today is a 1981 Jeep Scrambler CJ-8 and a 1979 Jeep CJ-7. They both have an AMC 304 motor with 3 speed tranny, and clear OH titles. Sold as is, I would classify as projects not road worthy at the moment. $4500 starting bid No Reserve.
1981 Jeep Scrambler - Bought as a project and it was to say it nicely, rough. PO had done some work, good and bad. I repaired bad sections on frame, cutting out sections and welding new steel in, not plating over. The 304 and 3 speed are not original, I'm guessing around 78-79. I had to do some fab work on tranny mount to get it to mount correctly. My goal with this jeep was to be a work Jeep, but to be sturdy and safe so I was starting at the ground up and due to moving soon I didn't make it to the body. It is stock height. Lots of time and new parts on this rig. Welded in a piece in the cab to mount seat. Does not have full exhaust just headers. Does run, move and stop but has not been on street only in yard. None of the lights work, a couple gauges, wiring was going to be my next step. It will need addressed to get on the road. Passenger door shuts good, drivers side not so much. Beat, pull, and tug and it will shut but its a pia. Body is rough as you can see in pics. No bumpers. I have not tried the 4 wheel drive, or opened the pumpkins to check the gears and condition etc... but it does move freely. It is a narrow track Jeep, looks to be stock front & rear(other than new wheel/axle bearings and brakes etc...).
1979 Jeep CJ-7 looks to be stock but I haven't given it much attention, auto locking hubs, 4 wheel drums. Have had running with a bottle feed. Gas tank has leak, doors shut nicely, no bumpers, brakes not working. Will need to be hauled. Have not tried 4 wheel drive. Good for complete restoration or parts. Had new starter but now on Scrambler. Has all 3 seats. Frame doesn't look too bad with what I can see crawling underneath. I tried to get a picture of what I could see as the worst, although I didn't do a hammer test or put on lift this was crawling underneath(see pics).
Again let me stress, the Scrambler is a project although it is close, it will take some work to get it on the road(legally). This Scrambler is a work in progress but has lots of potential and now has a solid foundation to build on. Any questions let me know. $500 deposit required at end of auction. Located in Athens, OH. Being sold as is, no warranties, clear title. No shipping. Paypal, Cashiers check, or cash only. $4500 starting bid NO RESERVE. Any questions or want to see in person send me a message. Thanks
