Description

This is one very clean and solid 57 Willys CJ5 with 62604 original miles. It has a sweet running Ford 289 V8 coupled to the original T90 trans and Spicer D18 transfer case. Also included is one monster of a winch. It works fine in one direction, but one of the controlling solenoids seems to have an issue to run it the other direction. If you swap the cables on top of the winch, it will run the other direction. The full metal top is a Koenig unit that was offered as an option by Jeep. The floorboards are in excellent condition for a Jeep this old. There is one small rust through spot on the passenger side due to carpet being put in the Jeep. The storage box under the passenger seat (see picture) is in awesome shape. These are usually rotted out. The only other rust spots I can find is one by the left tail light and a little where the floor meets the cross support under the fuel tank. Otherwise it's real nice and still the original blue paint. These 3 spots could be easily fixed with some sheet metal and a wire feed welder. Also seen in the pictures is the original owners manual and hub locking/unlocking tool. Tires have good tread but are old and a bit weather cracked. Seats are not original. Small dent in front left fender and dented area on right rear corner (see picture).
I have installed a new clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing (see picture). Flywheel was also re-surfaced. New battery installed also. Brakes work, but both front wheel cylinders leak. Dimmer switch is moody and I'm not sure if all the gauges work. All in all, this Jeep requires very minimal work to be a daily driver and weekend toy.
I just bought this Jeep last month with intentions of making it a weekend toy. However, with several other Jeeps already in the stable and Uncle Sam wanting more money from me, I decided I have to sell it.
If you would like more pictures or a video of the Jeep cruising down the road, send me your mobile number and I will send them directly to you.
