Jeep was fitted / upgraded with a outstanding performing, running Chevy 350 motor. The motor is fitted with aluminum intake, Summit/ Holley 700 CMF 4 BBl Carburetor. Headers and nice sounding Duel Exhaust. Electronic Dist. New HD Radiator with Electrical cooling fans. *Same motor used in early Corvette and many muscle cars! The Motor is backed by a nice performing and shifting upgraded GM 700 R4 - 4 Speed Auto Transmission. Very nice performing transmission making this Jeep outstanding to drive Off Road, in the City and even the Highway when required of it. The 4th gear is also a factory over drive! So even with with your Jeep gearing (This Jeep will drive the highways at higher speeds MPH than most CJ can . And do it at much lower RPM's * Due to the OD 4th gear. ( So you get the best of both worlds in this Classic CJ on and off road.) You can also "manual shits" the transmission up and down the shift range if you want to hold transmission in that gear like a manual = SEE DRIVING VIDEO auto and Manual shifting Jeep. Jeep fitted with a nice "Pro comp 3 inch" Spring suspension system ( Not a shackle lift) and ( Not a cheap axle over Lift) ( Not a cheap body spacer lift ) You get 3 inch more in spring and shock travel making it ride super nice on and off road. Jeep also fitted with Pro Comp shocks. Jeep sits on 33 tall 12.5 wide tires mounted on 15 inch steel wheel. * Due the math that's over 4 feet of tire rubber on the ground under this Jeep. No tire fender rub "None". Swing out rear tire rack with matching spare tire and wheel ( The running gear and suspension in this Jeep today makes it a real joy to drive. This Jeep is a joy to drive = YOU DRIVE THIS JEEP = NOT IT DRIVE YOU like most older Jeep's do! *Jeep has lived in the west coast desert of Arizona and Nevada, The Jeep has a super nice rust free body, floor pans and frame. *The factory "boxed frame" and rust free body made this CJ 7 the perfect Jeep to build into something special ( one of one). The body on Jeep is very nice rust free - Not bondo fille, it's straight. SEE PHOTOS and VIDEO. * The off road diamond plate on the lower edge below doors and on the rear edge of Jeep is not covering up any type of rust or damage! But other than that the overall paint is respectable and Jeep is not requiring a re paint. ( People love the way this Jeep look's as is today) So i kept the paint as is and color sanded and buffed it back to life! I did "re painted / re finish the hard top and hard doors and even added a black center hood ax cent to reduce sun glare when driving. Blacked out the diamond plate and then polished the high spots on diamond plate then cleared them "to give it a custom Jeep look" It has also been cleaned and detailed Top to Bottom - Front to Rear - Inside and Out = SEE ALL PHOTO. If any cleaner you will not want to drive it and get it dirty! Jeep fitted with "all new" wiring harness front to rear so everything works correc, The dash was removed and all dash gauges and lighting re wired. A new dash gauge cluster and dash gauges installed so everything works like it should. The Heater works - Wipers work - Horn works. = SEE LIGHT VIDEO! I will try to answer them for all to see. 1st question "yes" Jeep did sell an automatic transmission in the Jeep cj7 built in the mid to late 70 only offered in the Jeep CJ7 not in the Cj5. * It was a turbo 400 with Jeep full time 4 wheel drive 4 by 4 system. It was a vacuum engage 4 wheel drive "with out locking hubs". It was a full time AWD system that was "chain driven" and not the best for off road use. It was called "Quad track" You did not get the option of just driving in 2 wheel - rear wheel drive when street driving. It was a 3 speed automatic "Not 4 speed" *2nd question. Jeep started factory boxing the Jeep frame in the early 70 when they first installed the AMC 304 V8 motor in the CJ5 and not before! .Before the early 70 Jeep has what you call a C type channel frame open on the inside not as strong so people weld in the frame today to make them stronger like the factory frame come's standard after the mid 70 in Jeep. .* 3rd Question Jeep factory " disc brakes " and factory power steering not offered in Jeep as standard equipment until the mid 70 and later.. You can add both of them it to any Jeep = but not factory standard equipment before mid 70. 4th question is lift on Jeep. If you lift a Jeep more than 2 inch over stock you will need to make many adjustments to make the drive correct! Most suspensions kits sold will send you a few of the items you will need. You will need to shim plate the front and rear end both 4 deg if 3 to 4 inch lift installed 6 deg or more = if lifted higher than that. ( not a good idea for a Jeep you want to drive on the street a lot or on the highway at high speeds. Keep them 3 inch max if you want to lift them. You will need to also install a drop pitman arm to the power steering gear box to get the " tie rod " steering angles " back to the correct angle" or your Jeep will want to "lane drift" and maybe even "high speed wobble" at higher road speeds.5th question electrical. Jeep never had a great electrical system in them. Bad Grounds very common in Jeep CJ. It's very hard to find an older CJ that all the electrical is working correct in. Everything working correct and lit as they came from the factory. Most gas gauges don't work in them for sure. I Just rewire them if any electrical issue at all. Just start from scratch and install it all new front to rear. then you will not have an issue ever again! Always add in extra ground wires - body to frame - firewall to dash it helps! * last question yes the Chevy V8 conversion is the only way to go - I have done many over the years. Great motor to fit under the hood with good clearance. You can also build them very easy to 400 to 600 hp you want nas car performance! You can buy replacement parts at any local auto parts store - Better yet any guy with a tool box can repair or tune a chevy 350 motor. ( Don't need to go to the local Jeep special build and repair shop with high retail shop rates ). You can also bolt any Chevy transmission direct to it = 3 speed - 4 speed - 4 speed with granny - turbo 350 or turbo 400 3 speed auto transmission. Or Spend the extra money and install a 700 r4 4 speed automatic in it. *Again any transmission shop can work on or service your transmission.! You don't have to go to the retail Jeep shop. I'm a 40 year Jeep owner and love the Jeep CJ . I'm also a car guy and have always owned V8 in my classic hot rods. Nothing better than a classic CJ with V8 power and performance in it. I also like the sound of the V8 when driving down the road. Makes it a real joy to drive. The Jeep 4.0 and 4.2 inline 6 cyl both great motors in a Jeep and will get the job done for most Jeepers! .But if i get the option to pick = I'm going V8 power & performance with duel exhaust sound every time!
