1979 Jeep CJ5 Renegade

Description

I have an excellent running Jeep CJ5 up for auction. It fires up the 1st time everytime. It has sat for 2 weeks and I pushed the gas pedal to the floor and let up on it easy so the choke would engage and it fired up instantly. It doesn't leak, smoke or rattle. Runs strong with a smooth 3-speed manual transmission. All the lights work, front seats are great, rear seat needs covering. It has a new bikini top, spare tire cover,new battery and recent tune up. I am going to call it a project, because it does have some rust and could use some patch panels and a paint job to make it a really nice Jeep. Floor pans are not bad at all. Body has several bubble places from being fixed before. Please look at pics closely. It has headers and side exhaust. It has a new set of 33X12.50x15 mud terrain type tires on 15x10 inch Mickey Thompson type aluminum wheels with a small suspension lift. I have the new Renegade and Jeep decals to go with it. Power steering with disc brakes on the front and drums on the rear. It does not have the emergency brakes hooked up. Rear brakes will need going thru also. Front disc brakes work great and that's what I have been driving it on with no problems. I have a set of softdoors and some of the pieces for a soft top that will gowith the Jeep also. I have shippers that I can put the winning bidder in contact with to furnish a quote if needed. Ask any questions and I will answer within a day as I check emails daily. I have had a question about the frame and if it had any rust that was not pictured. I have had back surgery for a ruptured disc and cannot crawl under a Jeep. With that being said, I had a friend climb under and check the inside of the frame. He said it had a couple of places that are rusted thru, but nothing really bad. I will have them repaired before the Jeep sells. This does not affect the excellent running 304 V8 engine and the amount of over $1,000 worth of wheels and tires. I will upload the pictures as soon as possible. If anyone wants to cancel their bid I will understand completely and will cancel any bid upon request. Pictures will be uploaded shortly. I apologize for any inconvienience to any of my fellow ebayers. I am also lowering the "buy it now" and the reserve on this Jeep.

I had a friend repair the rust in the frame today. Just got it back and he took some pics for me to put on here. The rust places were fixed with 3/16 metal. The patch panels were actually bigger than the rust places. They were made to be drilled and attached with self taping screws in the frame and then welded in place. A coat of undercoating was applied when it was done. It looks safe and strong. I dont see any problem looking at the pics he took. Again, please look at all the pics before bidding.
