Description

This rare little car was shipped from the Lancia plant in Turin Italy to San Francisco. Car remained in this area until late 2013. Since then it has been in the midwest. I purchased the car with the intent of reworking the interior and probably keep it until the inevitable realization by the auto world that these are extremely rare. Plus the Pinin Ferina " of Ferrari fame" styling that is a staple. However my age has caught up with me to the point that i know i can not finish this. Here is what i think the car still needs. 1) Power window motors are good and switches are new but, the lift rails need lubricating. Windows move slow and passenger window sometimes sticks in up position. 2) Fuel gauge is not accurate at all. I use the trip odometer which works fine. 3) Dash board is new and already installed but needs to be tighter. This was expensive and looks great. 4) Needs radio. Wires are there. 5)AC does not work, but this is a convertible.5) Back of drivers seat is ripped, i have another one that is not ripped but leather needs treatment and cleaning, it will be included. 6) needs new rear convertible top. The top is actually in good shape but the window is yellow and cracked. These sell for as little as $299 on eBay or at Midwest Bayless for $347. Bayless has about everything for these cars new or used. This is easy to replace.Good things 1) Suspension on all four corners has been rebuilt, Handles and drives very well. 2) New Brakes, Pads, calipers rebuilt new master and booster. 3) timing belt changed at 98k miles. This is the best engine offered in these in 1981 or 1982, it is 2 Litre with fuel injection. 4) Very good matching tires. 5) all 5 aluminum wheels are in very good condition. 6) Paint and and body work will turn heads but are not show car quality. Draws crowd at cruise inns. 6) Steering colume ignition has been changed to upgrade console push button. All these pictures were taken April 5, 2019 including the dash board while going 56mph at 2600rpm. The milage of 104310 exceeds the limits of the odometer but, it is well documented with receipts from work done when received from California wit documented miles. I almost bought one new in 1981 because they came with four wheel independent suspension and four wheel disc brakes with a 5 speed manual trans which neither Mustang or Camaro offered at the time. However, the Lancia was at least Three thousand $ more so the did not sell very well. Google them and you will see that less than 800 shipped first year and 2500 total. The value has to go up. Hagarty is presently insuring this for me at $7000 however only this auction will determine its value. I am overing it at NO RESERVE to show that i am a serious seller and not just trying to asses its value. Located at 45036.
