Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this very attractive 1972 Lancia Fulvia 1.3S. This Fulvia was with a long-term owner in Italy and was recently imported to the U.S. A fairly original and clearly well-kept example, it was recently repainted in beautiful Blu Scuro (dark blue). Panel gaps are unusually good and the doors close particularly well. This example retains its unique, date-code-correct 14-inch Stil-Auto wheels -- and period Cibie driving lights complete the look. The interior was refreshed with attractive tobacco upholstery and door cards in Italy. The headliner and door rubbers appear to be new as well. The original Autovox AM radio remains in the dash. Spare tire and jack are included.
Lancia dominated the Italian rally circuit in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and a Fulvia won the FIA International Championship for Manufacturers in 1972 (the predecessor series for the World Rally Championship). It's easy to see the racing heritage when driving one -- we are always surprised how well these cars perform with their innovative V4 engine and front wheel drive.
Mechanically, these cars were ahead of their time -- featuring a narrow-angle 1.3 liter V4 with a single cylinder head, the engine architecture is similar to the modern-day Volkswagen VR6 engine (Lancia pioneered this design in the 1920s). Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a five-speed manual transmission with a dogleg shift pattern. Runs and drives well and feels very "put together."
Sold on a current Georgia registration. Lots of style and performance for the money -- an excellent car for touring or your next "cars and coffee" event.
