Description

This 1961 Lancia Flaminia is a left-hand-drive Pininfarina coupe finished in dark green over a black and grey interior. The car was purchased from a noted collector and rally enthusiastout of Greece and subsequently imported it to his home in California. Notable work performed within the past seven years has included a repaint in the factory color, as well as a rebuild of the all-aluminum 2.5-liter V6. Since being imported to the US the car has received approximately $8k in work on the cooling system, brakes, driveline, and interior/exterior cosmetics as outlined in the listing below. This Flaminia is now being offered with records, import documentation, spares, and a clear California title.

The body was refinished in the factory green in 2013, and the front bumper has been re-chromed in recent months. A few imperfections are noted in the remaining brightwork and around the body, including an area of paint spidering approximately 2×2″ in size in the hood. A new taillight lens has been installed along with a replacement Trico windshield washer reservoir and wiper blades. According to the previous owner the car was used in two regularity rallies in 2010 with the Greek historic club, Philipa.

The Flaminia utilizes a double-wishbone front suspension with conventional coil springs, and a De Dion rear axle similar to what was utilized in the Aurelia. Braking is managed by four-wheel hydraulic discs, and the system benefits from a new $1,800 brake booster. Replacement rear shocks have also been installed in recent months, and factory wheels come wrapped in a set of 165R400 Michelin X radialsInstrumentation includes a pair of Jaeger combination gauges with a km/h-speedometer showing engine vitals on the left, and a tachometer with an integrated clock on the right. The instruments are reported to work as intended, and clock has recently been rebuilt, along with the period Blaupunkt radio.80k kilometers (~50k miles) are shown on the odometer.

The 2.5-liter V6 was rebuilt in 2013 at a cost of €11k, and a recent compression test revealed between 155 and 165 psi across all cylinders. A stainless steel rear exhaust section was added under previous ownership, and the seller recently installed a reconditioned radiator. The car features a rear-mounted 4-speed manual transaxle, and power is routed through a recently-installed, re-balanced flywheel, replacement pressure plate, and new throwout bearing. A new driveshaft section and center support bearing have also been installed.
