VIN is: SALLDVBB7FA369967 (ebay's system will not accept British VINs) - I have a letter of certification stating that this vehicle was imported in complete original condition, which is a requirement for imports. It verifies this VIN is original and authentic. British registration forms are included in the vehicle maintenance records package.
County Edition Adds (nothing from off-road edition was left out, the following was only added for the higher-end package):
6 x Cloth Seats front with headrests
Full Cubby
Tinted Glass
Power Steering
Rear step/tow package
Steering Guard
Sunroof (no leaks)
Rear Windshield Wiper
Rear seatbelts
Metal checkered wing grate tops
Land Rover Rubber Floormats (front and rear)
Body has minimal surface rust, around the rivets at the tail, and small spots below the front windshield. Nothing deep. The rear crossmember will need a little attention for a full restoration, as you can see from the pictures. The rear step will need replacing. One of the mudflaps is worn, but I am including 4 new mudflaps that were awaiting the work on the rear crossmember before I installed them. The first 2 inches of the front joint in the floor panels has a little rust. There is NONE of the doorframe rust that typically plagues Defenders.
The rear seats can all be stowed up, or put down, as you can see in the pics (rear left seat is showed in the stowed position, the others are down). Seatbelts for safety.
The 2.5L Diesel runs smooth. A little smoke on startup like most diesels, but it starts immediately both cold and hot, and runs fantastic with no hesitation. The intercooler provides significant extra pep over the standard 2.5TD engine. No hangups with the transmission, shifts smooth, you know you're driving a Land Rover! Fuel injectors newly removed, reconditioned, and replaced. New battery. Additionally, I have a box of new replacement parts I brought with the car from England, Clutch Master Cylinder, lock cylinder, various filters, etc.
The paint is all original, including the "County" decals. It is getting thin in some areas, especially over the front fenders, but I fought the temptation to paint it as it looks good as is, if you're looking to do that full restoration, it will be easier to do if it is over original paint.
Full history of all work back to 1990 included. Was very well-maintained.
Available for viewing any time, just contact me! I hope this British off-roading classic finds a great home. Sale will be a standard title transfer, nothing complicated. I will help arrange shipping, can possibly even deliver depending upon location, once sale is final.
