Up for auction is a 1993 Land Rover Range Rover County LWB. NO RESERVE
I acquired this car for a payment that was due to us and have no use for it and that is why I am selling it. If you are familiar with the LWB Range Rovers you know they are very sought after and sell for $12-15K all day every day for nicely sorted out ones. This is your opportunity to own one at a fraction of the price that appears to not need to much to bring it back to it's glory days. We have a very low reserve on this Range Rover and it would not take much to get this to a sorted out LWB ….. Or drive it as is and enjoy the thumbs up!
I don't know much about the truck, but have seen enough Range Rover’s to know this has a lot of potential for a sought after LWB Range Rover. It is a very solid truck with zero rust on the underside or exterior (including cross members, tailgate, etc.)
It has spent it’s whole life in Texas. The last owner owned it for 10 years and was a mechanic so he did all the work on it himself, so dont have any sort of service records to it. It has been sitting in his garage for the last couple years and not driven much A new battery and she fired right up with no issues at all.
This Range Rover would make a great driver or even a restoration candidate to bring back to its glory days and have yourself a very nice Classic Range Rover.
I have driven this truck a few times since I acquired it and every time it ran just fine. Drives smooth down the highway, shifts fine and does not overheat. I recently drove it 60 miles with no issues. I would not hesitate driving this on a longer trip. With that said, it is an old Range Rover, so I am sure it will have it’s quirks. You get what you pay for and a $5K Range Rover will clearly need work. ie: has the standard leaks an old rover typically has. This one does start and drives fine and doesn't appear to have nothing major out of the ordinary for these old rovers.
The exterior is in pretty good shape for the year and holds its original white paint and has held up really nice over the years. Its still has a great shine, but does have a few minor scratches, chips, etc. The truck has spent it’s entire life in Texas and is completely rust free. All the exterior lights, side markers, blinkers, etc. appear to work.
The interior is complete and original. While dirty and worn (as you can see in photos) it has lots of potential. It would not take much to wash carpet, replace wood (sets on ebay you can buy) and recover seats.
I tested most of the switches and what does not work is way less than what works, which is always a plus with these old Range Rovers! Drivers seat power switch does not work (so will need a new switch) Passenger seat works fine. Cruise control does not appear to work. Radio does not work. I did not check the seat heaters, but were told they work.
The heater works great. The A/C does not blow cold air. I am assuming it will just need a refill, since I was told the A/C worked last time the truck was driven regularly. All gauges work correctly as well as the gauge lights. All windows switches work and windows go up and down.
This Range Rover has been converted over to coils so you dont have to deal with the suspension airbag issues. It appears to have everything in place to switch back if you wanted to.
Overall, this Range Rover drives good on the road and I wouldn't hesitate to take it on a longer drive. It drives straight down the freeway with no vibrations. Brakes are a little soft and probably should be replaced soon, but work just fine with no vibrations.
She is far from perfect, but this is a very cool classic Range Rover LWB that are becoming harder and harder to find with no rust and this solid. I dont think it would take much to get this looking great again.
