Compression was teste, I believe all cylinders came back at around 120psi. Motor is not rebuilt but performs well.
Original Blaupunkt Radio, shows nice and is included with vehicle, not hooked up so assume it is not working
There are 4 gauges on the lower section of the dash, oil temp, oil pressure, voltage meter and clock- they all wor, even the clock!!!!, well, the oil pressure gauge doesn’t work because the sensor in the motor is faulty. But the gauge was tested and funcions. The rest of the gauges in the cluster work. There are some plastic inserts that say Diff Lock and others, that show age. The main part of the instrument cluster looks very nice.
This incredible Range Rover was owned for most its life by the patriarch of a wealthy family in Guatemala. He used it lovingly to go to a coffee farm next to the city. After the owner got up in age, the vehicle sat for many years before it was bought and brought back to life by the 2nd owner. I am the 3rd owner and did most of the restoration work. Unlike the earlier versions of this vehicle which came without air conditioning or power brakes or steering, this Range Rover is an absolute pleasure to drive. This is one of the most desirable years. Notice the notch in the middle of the front bumper- This vehicle can be hand cranked to start without a battery !!!! Hand cranking mechanism is part of tool kit. SO COOL!!!!
I have driven this car 400 miles or so. The steering is tight, she holds the road well and shifts nicely. The suspension has been all gone thru and makes no noises. I believe you could drive this vehicle cross country. This Range Rover has great on and off road manners, it is just as at home in the Rocky Mountains as it is on Rodeo Drive. It is not a fast car. The Edelbrock setup does help. The middle section of the dash has cracks, as does the front portion of the binacle(instrument cluster housing) , the filler neck of the gas tank has some sort of extender, which makes filling up a bit of a challenge. Gas goes in, but slower than normal. Pictures of engine were before I had itsetas cleaned and detailed. It looks better now.
