Description

You are looking at quite possibly the nicest Land Rover Defender in all of North America. If you think this truck is familiar, then you have the same taste in movies as I have, I had this truck built as close as possible to the Land Rover I watched in a recent film where the villain was chasing the agent :) Realizing that there are only two of these trucks in the world and both are in Land Rover museums, I set off on a quest to make an identical truck.
I found this Land Rover as a utility truck in Northern Switzerland, it is a 1986 model, it was in a barn, once part of the farm and used for hauling around things, had this truck fully torn down to the frame and restored. Every nut, bolt, belt, screw, stitch was looked after. I had this truck restored for me (I have 13 cars and counting) so I did not spare any expenses as this is my passion and hobby, cars distract me from the rigors of my various business interests. This truck was over a year in the making and everything was done with the knowledge that it needs to last another 30 years at minimum.
This is not a "perfect Land Rover", they were never built to be that way, all the Defenders I have owned have their unique quirks, they don't drive smooth, they are loud, this one starts with a little vibration when driving until the rubber on the tires warms up. The doors all close, but the design of all these doors have characteristic flaws, some may leak a little. I am saying all this because if your expectation of this truck is to be a 2017 Range Rover, it is not that. This truck is a head turner, it turns heads and gets kids smiling just as much as my Huracan and Mulsanne.
This is not a desperation sale, I don't want trades, I am only selling it because after enjoying this beauty I have something different in the works and it is time for this incredible machine to bring joy to another person. This truck is a frame off restoration, engine, transmission, everything. The doors are new, interior is new. I had the interior done to have creature comforts (air conditioning) and bluetooth audio (your phone controls the audio and sound) while paying homage to the simplicity of this truck. The lights are all LED. This is a VERY intimidating truck, it sits ridiculously high at 8 feet. I have a clean and clear North Carolina title of the Land Rover, it cleared customs, etc.
Please don't ask me MPG, I have no idea, it drinks gas faster than I can down a Big Gulp at 7/11. It doesn't go fast, 60 miles is it's happy spot, faster than that is a challenge due to the humongous 37 inch tires.
I have loved Land Rovers since a child, I have vivid memories of them as a child growing up, my father would put is in the back of the ole Defender in Northern Africa and take us on Holiday together. We would do trips like this in Europe. It is why I enjoy having these restored, they bring my boys joy to take them tailgating in it, out to ice cream, off to football practice.
My cell # if you have questions is 704-726-1587, you can text if you would like or call, but please have etiquette. Please don't text/call between 10pm-7am. Please don't call if you don't have funds ready, just to ask if I would trade, just to say "how much do you want for it" or the "it's a nice truck, I want it but got to get it cleared by my wife, significant other, etc". I won't waste your time and loathe when my time is wasted. I don't finance but can direct you to a company that can finance a classic like this.
Thanks and now enjoy the pics, it'll take a while to load.
