1987 Land Rover Defender 90 - Pristine Condition
Description
Thank you for looking at my auction. For sale is an ex- military soft top, in six-seater configuration. The VIN number, frame number stamped on the chassis, & engine number all match the New York State Title and Registration in my name.
This car can be driven or stored in three different way: the canvas top fully on, canvas top rolled up on the sides, and you can completely remove the canvas top as well as the metal planks to make the car 100% convertible. You choose - super simple and not time intensive - for one person to do.
We have owned about four or five of these - this one is by far the nicest car. It feels more like driving a regular car than most Defenders that feel like driving a truck.
Specifications:
It has a engine that was rebuilt by Land Rover with 8,024 miles on it. Power steering, 200TDi power, high-ratio transfer box, sideways-opening tailgate, steering guard, sidesteps, a matching set of 5 BFG tyres on limestone rims, adjustable towbar, rear mud-flaps, and full chequer plate kit.
Some believe that 200TDI was the best engine that Land Rover ever built. You can look that up yourselves, for reference.
Internally it has Exmoor Trim front seats, metal lockable cubby box, twin benches in the back, radio/CD with aux plug, and high-lift jack.
Exterior:
The body and paintwork are in great condition. The car is rust-free and this paint job was done in 2010. It has a small ding (that you can see) on top of the front, left fender.
Interior:
The interior is in great condition. Very well detailed load area.
VIN:
For some odd reason it wasn't letting me type in the actual VIN number.
Overall:
Starts and performs flawlessly, with a very smooth and relatively quiet 200TDi engine. No backlash in the transmission.
The car fit with a rebuilt 200tdi engine with Ashcroft transmission, power steering, topped off with a bare-metal respray in Olive Drab. It was also fully waxoyled.
Seats:
Black Outlast fabric.
