We have the great pleasure of offering this very unique 1987 Land Rover Defender 110 V8 Country Station Wagon 5-speed up for adoption. We found her on a large country estate in England near Glouchester, where she had the same caretakers for her entire life - until we brought her home. She's been well cared for over the years, including a recent mechanical refresh at our shop here in Minneapolis.
See her drive: https://youtu.be/KOiuBHJjgzU
She's currently located and titled in Minnesota and can be legally owned and driven in all 50 states (although California might be a bit fussy)
Having the same owner from 6 month until we found her, it's very clear that she was well maintained over the years. Unlike most Land Rover Defenders of this age, she has never been welded, as it's never been necessary. We had one of our Bishop+Rook restorers in the UK undertake a recommissioning job to get her driving and we finished her restoration here in the US, which included:
All new brakes
Full service
New stainless steel exhaust
Entire chassis has been fully steam cleaned, rubbed back and provisionally undersealed
New wheels and mud tyres fitted,
New springs and shock absorbers
New alternator and belts fitted and properly adjusted
Timing adjusted and tuned
New battery
Fluids flushed and filled
Coolant system tested and refreshed
New radiator being added before sale
Full respray
Only 96,000 original miles! But ... it will go up everyday she's on the market because we can't help ourselves from driving her.

I’ve worked in advertising as a creative director, director, photographer, and writer for most of my professional life. Over the past few years I had been searching for a way to focus the hobbies and interests I had outside the office. Bishop+Rook was crated as an outlet to develop the projects, ideas, and products related to my passion for travel, film, and automobiles.
Having purchased my first Land Rover Defender 90 in the spring of 2014, I fell in love with the way she drove and the conversations I had at car shows, gas stations, parking lots, and anywhere I drove her.
People have unique reaction when they see a vintage Land Rover. It inspires a sense of adventure and a wanderlust not found with any other vehicle. Wanting to capture this feeling on film, I started doing research on the sub-culture of Defender owners around the world — specifically the green laning culture in England. My ultimate goal is to film a documentary series about the Defender culture and the last “Go Anywhere” vehicle on the planet. This series, called “Adventure Tested,” would not only dig deep into the UK Land Rover culture, but also follow a series of Americans as they hunt the English countryside for their perfect Land Rover Defender.
Sharing Our PassionWhat you will find on our website (bishoprook.com) is information related to the project, and a variety of vehicles we find along the way. We do a light restoration and offer them up for adoption for those in the midwest to enjoy at home. We restore the vehicles to an adventure-tested stage — not over-restored and not over-priced. We simply want to share our love an passion for these amazing vehicles with like-minded people.
We price our vehicles fairly. Any profit we make is turned back into our creative project. Any work we do is to ensure people can enjoy them right away — we make sure they are adventure ready on day one.
While we do have vehicles in stock, we also offer a service to find and import cars with specific requirements. Drop us a note and let us know what you would like.
Our Thoughts on the VehicleWe absolutely love driving this special Land Rover Defender (technically pre-Defender). She has a nice little V8 that pushes her down the road and over any challenge you can throw at her. She's also stunningly beautiful and captures the attention of anyone around. She's perfect for both city and country living. If we weren't trying to complete our film project, we would have probably kept her as our daily driver. This is the vehicle you dream about when you think of a Defender.
Take a look at the photos and watch the video on the website (http://www.bishoprook.com/br012/), to see how she looks and drives. We welcome emails, messages, phone calls, facetime, for interested parties.
Final Details & NotesWe are a small specialists restoration company based in Minnesota who focus on providing adventure ready vehicles. They are not complete ground up restorations, rather running and driving vehicles that are designed for adventure, not the showroom. We ask that you keep this in mind when you plan on becoming a caretaker of a 25+ year old vintage Land Rover Defender. There are always a few things here and there that could use fixing, but we try our best to represent them honestly. We keep a pretty extensive blog and social media account about our restoration efforts and our philosophy on these classic vehicles. We hope you have as much passion for these cars as we do.
Cheers!

Ebay does not recognize the UK VIN number, so here it is here: SALLDHMV7BA295XXX. Final VIN to be provided to any serious parties. There can be some VIN fraud out there, so we like to protect it from public view.
