In 1958 the Santana Motor Co. of the Andalucia region of Southern Spain secured a licensing agreement to build Land Rover Series models in their factories - Costa Rica was home to their Latin American assembly plant. The last 5 years I've lived in the Costa Rica rescuing and restoring rare barn-find Landy's that were used to work the rugged terrain of their coffee plantations in the 1960's and '70's. I'm a true Landy enthusiast.
While living in Costa Rica for my career I supervised the 2-year restoration of this rare 4 door '67 Land Rover Safari 109 IIA soft top.I personally exported this vehicle to Port Everglades, FL and had it brought in covered transport to Newport, RI (current garaging location).I have CR title and notarized CR traspaso, detailed journal and receipts of all work, & export/import/transport paperwork. Still has very cool CR registration and emission stickers on the windshield - ALL goes with the truck as it's all part of her history.
Clean and authentic period specific truck. Rebuilt with pride and attention to detail. Super fun buggy for round town or a Sunday evening ice cream cruise with the family or car-hop showoff - real unique head-turner! Great classicbig-rig addition to any collection.
