1984 Land Rover Defender 110 - totally restored, CA Registered
Description
Completely restored 1984 Land Rover Defender 110 with only 68k original miles. Left-hand drive Italian import. Given that this truck spent the first 32 years in Italy, it has no rust inside or out; the body and chassis remain free and clear of corrosion, rust or even oxidation. This Defender was repainted its original color, Desert Beige, and given a very complimentary touch of silver on the fender flares, roof, surrounding trim and custom bumpers.
Upgraded features include the following: a 200 Turbo Diesel engine with LT 77 gearbox, disc brakes, upgraded contemporary Land Rover wheels, and 2 spare tires, one mounted on the hood, and other on the rear door. Also featured is an upgraded grill and light setup, side steps all around the truck, beautiful custom interior with inset stainless steel diamond plating and stainless trim pieces throughout, a galvanized roof rack, decorated with axe and shovel (should you be so daring as to take this beauty off road and find yourself in a tight spot), customized 1/4 inch steel front and rear bumpers with D-tow rings, and tow hitch receiver. The interior has been tastefully upgraded with modern conveniences, including a bluetooth integrated radio and back up camera, as well as seat belts for each of the 10 occupants. Uniquely, during the years 1983-84, Land Rover offered a special model with Safari Doors, so that if you want that "Safari feeling," you can take the upper half of the doors off with the removal of a handful of screws. These doors have the Safari sliding glass as well, which is much classier than the customary rollup windows. This is a rare truck!
All the suspension components underneath have been replaced, including shocks and springs, drive axels, u-joints, bushings, and engine mounts. Unlike many Rovers out there, the underside has not been painted because there is nothing to hide or conceal. The timing chain, all gaskets, hoses, and under-hood components have been rebuilt or replaced, including a new clutch assembly, and tightened steering. The lights in the dash and the gauges are also new and wiring is all sorted out so that the driver has complete visibility into the electronic status alerts of the truck.
the 200 turbo-diesel, this truck can easily travel at highway speeds and tracks well on the road, unlike many underpowered Rovers with a normally aspirated 2.5 liter diesel or V8 gas motor. It's not bumpy or uncontrolled in the front end, which makes the ride very enjoyable. This Defender has both the classic & timeless Safari Defender look while offering some modern conveniences, which make it a rare vehicle indeed.
