1988 land Rover Defender 90 CSW V8
Description
1988 Land Rover 90 V8 County Station Wagon.
RHD, recently imported from the UK.
This Defender 90 is fitted with the 3.5L V8 with twin Stromberg Carburettors . It has a 5-speed manual transmission which transmits the power through a 2 speed (Hi and low) transfer box with a locking center differential with permanent 4-wheel drive.
The body is aluminum on top of a steel chassis. This 90 is the much sought after County Station Wagon model which has windows and seating in the back and carpeting. The Defender is much loved for its rugged construction, simple mechanics and all round basic simplicity.
This is a very straight and original Land Rover which has been well cared for by its previous owners. The Exterior paint is faded and shows signs of several different repairs and there are a number of dents and spots of aluminum corrosion bubbling through. One dent on the front fender is quite sharp and small to the extent there is a small puncture hole in the panel. However structurally it is very sound. The bulkhead is in good condition and the door frames are solid, the bottoms have been repaired to a high standard at some point over the last few years. The interior is clean and free from rips for a 25 year old vehicle. The engine pulls well and has a sporty sound through a free flowing exhaust. Its a lot of fun to drive. The V8 is much nicer to drive than the diesel giving you an adequate 70mph cruising speed on the highway.
It has been fitted with the great looking deep-dish alloy wheels and BF Goodrich all-terrain tires. One of the best wheel/tyre combos for Defenders. The suspension runs the standard ride height with no lift kit fitted, however the dampers have been upgraded to Terrafirma dampers. The lights have been upgraded to Halogen units and completed by large Wipac lamps fitted to the front bumper. It has a small amount of chequer plating and body protcetion in keeping with its rugged off road looks.
This Land Rover is not yet titled in New York. It comes with the UK Title (V5) and the importation documents required to title it in which ever state you require.
I store the vehicle in New Jersey about 10 miles from the George Washington Bridge. It can be viewed at weekends. Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or to arrange a viewing.
