Description

We purchased this car from the original owner years ago with 95,000 miles. It recently got hit by some rocks (no kidding) and the insurance company listed it as totaled because the car was so old the and the body repairs were more than the book value. We kept the car which now required a salvage title and replaced the entire left front light assembly. Car was not involved in a collision. The car is currently registered and driven but it will need mechanical repairs.
The Good: Engine runs strong and goes 5000 miles between oil changes without adding any oil. It has a tick but it has been there ever since we bought the car at 95,000 and has not gotten any worse. Transmission and drive train are very smooth. Brakes recently inspected and have a lot of life left. 3 tires only have about 30% life left, 1 was replaced due to a flat and has probably 85% life left. Front end is tight with no uneven tire wear. Body is still solid with only a few tiny rust areas starting. Interior is old but not ripped up or trashed. Power windows and all other controls work.
The bad: EGR tube to back of intake manifold broke off at flange and is epoxied in place with JB Weld high temp epoxy putty, flange between exhaust and catalytic converter is leaking, power antenna is broken, LCD heat/AC display unreadable, break wear sensor cable needs replacing if you want the light to go out,(brakes are fine) Parking brake cables don't pull pedal back enough so light comes on, big dent in hood (rock), paint is old, small tear in bumper with minor damage around it (rock), other small dings and scratches. I add a couple ounces of power steering fluid about every 4 months.
This would be a good car for someone who can work on it themselves or as a parts car.
I have listed the things I know this car to need but it is an old car so it is being sold as is with all defects. You are welcome to come and inspect before bidding.
