1966 Lincoln Continental Turbo LS Air Ride Vintage Air Restomod
Description
This Lincoln Continental has everything you can want in a classic car. The car was very well built by Hale's Speed Shop in Lewisville, TX and has an execution level well beyond the typical backyard builds we are seeing these days. If you have never heard of Hale's Speed Shop, do yourself a favor and look them up on Facebook, Instagram, etc. and check out their exceptional level of fabrication and craftsmanship. Now, on to the car....Exterior:
- This car is absolutely rock solid underneath with no rust issues whatsoever.
- The paint is in great shape and is what I would consider very nice driver quality. The hood has 356 louvers that were professionallystamped into the hood to help with underhood temps and add a classic hot rod flair.
- All of the glass is in great shape and the door glass and rear window are all tinted to add to the sinister look that the car has.
- The new steel wheels are from Wheel Vintiques and have new spider caps and BFGoodrich Silvertown radial wide white wall tires mounted.
- All of the trim is present and in good shape.
Interior:- All of the interior is in great shape.
- The seat covers front and rear are really nice and do not have any tears, etc.
- The carpet is all in great shape as well.
- The headliner is new and in great shape.
- The dash pad has one small crack in the middle of the dash.
- All of the gauges work like they are supposed to.
- It has the biggest heat and A/C unit that Vintage Air makes to keep all of the passengers nice and cool.
- The trunk was recently just completely upholstered with black carpet.
Drivetrain:- The drivetrain is one of the best things of the entire car.....
- The engine is a 6.0 liter LS Ly6 with 823 casting square port L92 heads (similar to Ls3 heads) with an Ls3 intake manifold, a Nick Williams drive-by-cable 92mm throttle body and 60lbs injectors. It has a Master Power T-76mm turbo with a 4" core intercooler and custom built hot and cold side running to a single Black Widow muffler that runs back to the factory exhaust tip exiting the bumper. Sam Miller of Advanced Modern Performance tuned the computer and it makes around 600hp to the rear tires on 12psi of boost. It is a very reliable, daily driver kind of a car that has plenty of power on tap to move it down the road when needed.
- The transmission is a fully built 4L60e automatic overdrive with an aftermarket stall converter.
- The rear end is a 9" Ford that has been completely rebuilt using Moser 35 spline axles, 3.73 gears and a Detroit Locker.
Suspension:- All of the suspension was custom built by Hale's Speed Shop as well. The front consists of disc brakes with air bags on stock front upper and lower a-arms and new sway bar bushings.
- The rear suspension is a custom built 2 link with air bags and a panhard bar.
- The air compressor and tank are mounted in the trunk and hidden by custom made panels for a super clean look.
