Description

Up for sale is my 1978 Lincoln Continental. I've owned this car for a trouble free, highway cruisin' 10 years. I am the second owner and have always garage kept and maintained this car.The paint is 100% original and it still looks amazing. This Lincoln Mark V is a "Cartier Edition" and is loaded with options; Turbine wheels, four wheel disc brakes, cruise control, auto dimming headlights, "quadraphonic" 8 track player that still works and optional CB radio and of course all the other power accessories, such as seats, windows, locks, climate control etc. It was bought at Town and Country Lincoln-Mercury here in Sacramento and is still here. Never been out of California. The mileage is 72,840.
This Lincoln runs and drives fantastic and has no mechanical issues. Brakes are smooth, steering is tight, transmission shifts perfectly and the motor fires right up with no smoke, ticking, or leaks. The only two things that have been changed on the car is the vinyl top (the metal beneath is amazing and needed absolutely no repairs) and muffler which is still quiet but gives this 400 C.I.D V8 a nice subtle tone. In the trunk is the original, never-been-used spare tire, jack and tools.
The interior is showing its age, but it isn't bad. The drivers seat shows wear, as does the drivers arm rest. The top of the rear seat has split at its seam. Overall, this is a mechanically sound car that is a daily driver that needs minor tinkering, such as a new seat switch, headlight switch (just the vacuum portion of the switch went bad, however there is a vacuum switch under the dash to operate the headlight doors). Power window motors have been replaced and work great. All lights work I.E blinkers, low/high beams, brake lights and tail lights. This fantastic classic would be a great car for someone wanting to put in a little time and effort. Otherwise, the car is 100% turn key and drive, enjoy. It just passed California smog last week. Included are the original sales contract for $14,746.00 and several registration cards from the first owner and a receipt for $3000.00 they put down on the car, the owners manual and warranty booklet.
