Description

I love '80s and '90s cars, and they tend to multiply around my place, so I'm selling my 1989 Lincoln Town Car Signature Series.

This car isn't perfect, but is still a lot of fun -- I drove it around Metro Detroit all day on Friday doing errands and it still turns heads.

The car recently got new front brakes and tie rods, and a new muffler. I also installed a very recent battery. It's pretty quiet, but there's still an exhaust leak somewhere forward of the muffler itself.

The engine is original, and I believe the car has 122,6xx miles (five-digit odometer). When I got this from a charity auction (hence why '80s and '90s cars multiply around my place), it wouldn't go into third gear, so I had a transmission shop install a good used transmission from Sarnia, Ontario that had approximately 170K on it, and may have been rebuilt. These are getting hard to find! I'll throw in the original one with the car in case you have another Lincoln or 5.0v8 setup that needs a rebuildable core.

All of the power accessories work, except for some of the drivers side power seat functions (I seriously think it's a problem with the switches, not the motors under the seat), one speaker, and the power antenna, which keeps the radio from picking up any stations.

The air conditioning is complete, but does not work. There's a small vacuum leak somewhere that makes the temperature of the air coming out of the vents fluctuate when you accelerate.

The sunroof works and is a great addition to this car! When you're cruising around, and open it up, the white leather interior with red accents and woodgrain really shines.

This was a Michigan car to my knowledge, and there's definitely rust. The mechanics that did the tie rods told me that everything's still structurally sound, and with the exception of the front fenders, there aren't any perforations.

There is one area where the vinyl top is shrinking and pulling away, on the back of the car near the trunk lid. This car also has the common cracked plastic armrest on the driver's side, visible in the pictures.
