The Lincoln Continental is a series of luxury cars produced by Lincoln a division of the American automaker Ford Motor Company. First introduced in 1939 as a coach built convertible which would spawn the personal luxury car segment the nameplate has been in use by Lincoln at various times for more than 75 years. On nearly all 1970-1979 Lincoln Continental Town Cars the vinyl roof covered half the roof aft of the B-pillar (though the fixed roof over the driver remained). To suggest a partition a... raised molding sweeping over the roof was added featuring coach lamps. As an option some models of the Town Car featured a full-length padded roof. From 1973 to 1981 two-door Lincoln Continentals were available with a similar option called the Lincoln Continental Town Coupe.
