1956 Lincoln Premiere Coupe
Description
1956 Lincoln Premiere Coupe, this first year pillarless design earned the Premiere the Industrial designers Institute award of Excellence in Automotive Design for the 1956 model year...
This is a rare Lincoln which looks great, runs strong.. I was told the engine was rebuilt years ago, prior to being put into storage, but I cannot verify.... It has the Y block 368 V8 engine, Auto transmission, power brakes, power windows, power seat, power antenna, etc....
This Lincoln spent most of its life in Florida, was originally sold from the Lawrence Lincoln Mercury dealership located in Bradenton, Florida.
I recently had an entire new braking system installed (4 new wheel cylinders, master cylinder, booster, lines, etc.) and it stops perfectly... This car had been sitting for a few years prior to my purchase. The engine runs strong with no smoke, but there is some valve noise from sitting. The car drives and runs very well... The interior looks great, the seats have been restored, power seat/ power windows work( slowly). Original radio delete option. There are many unique styling features with this car... Paint may very well be original, as the car had been garaged, but I'm thinking there was a repaint at some point prior. Paint has some chipping and cracking.
This is a driver quality car that needs a little TLC and drive it as it sits... Or if you choose to put it back to show car level that is up to you. (There are currently similar cars, with varying degrees of restoration, ranging from 20k - through 100k). Another recently sold for 67k last month as well.... The overall condition of the car is a very nice driver, this is a solid car, to what level of restoration is up to the new owner. Or with very little TLC enjoy this unique Lincoln as a driver for your weekend car shows!! There is some rust in the trunk area, also where the battery tray sits, and one inner rear panel, and the bumpers could use a re-chrome, along with some polishing - touch ups on the trim... Some of the plastic window switches are brittle... Frame, rocker panels, main body panels, etc. look very solid...Original wheel covers and the owners manual in the glove box. I'm not sure on the age of the tires. They appear Ok but I would replace them before any long trips.
