Owners Grandson - YouTube
Video will open in a new window
[isdntekvideo] In 2010, the grandfather passed away leaving his collection of cars of owning for decades behind to his son & grandson. As the video explains from the grandson, they really didn't have any interest in them.
In Los Angeles, its very rare to see actual "Barns". When you see a car sitting in LA, its more in likely in a garage, backyard or luckily in this case - enclosed car trailers.
Up for the very first time for sale is going to be listings of the car collection - one by one.________________
Straight out of the collection is this Very Rare 1960 Lincoln Continental Mark V Original Convertible
Being Listed at No Reserve - SOLD to the Highest Bidder!
Below are photos of taking the Lincoln out of hibernation
A original 1960 Lincoln Continental Mark V Convertible. Owned originally by the great grandfather who passed it down to his son then left to the grandson. Many, many years in the family. Was a driver in the 60's & then restored in the 70's, apart of the LCOC Lincoln & Continental Owners Club.
The grandfather started the successful moving business, known to come to work in his large Lincoln Convertible. The car has been in the indoor warehouse for decades, regularly started by in house mechanic. After his passing, the grandson put away the Convertible in the unused moving containers.
Please to offer to you this really Rare Find & Beautiful Convertible at No Reserve
The Lincoln Continental Mark V Convertible pictured here is one of only 2,044 examples produced in 1960,and it is among fewer than 500 surviving examples today.
315 bhp, 430 cu. in. overhead valve V8 engine, single two-barrel carburetor, three-speed automatic transmission, independent front suspension with coil springs and wishbones, live rear axle with semi-elliptic leaf springs, four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes. Wheelbase: 131"
Factory options include Air Conditioner, Am/Fm Radio &all power windows & seat. Was originally Presidential Black & proud of been Red interior. Was repainted this Deep Burgundy with with matching interior years ago. Looks likehe added side marker lights with a side molding. Old paint / interior & rubber. Not perfect in anyway. Floors seem to be pretty clean for its age.
It is a complete Lincoln and in running / driving condition. New correct battery, rebuilt the original master cylinder as well as the carburetor. Drives around the streets fine, brakes & shifts. We was told the 430 was rebuilt but no documentationto prove it. Regarding the top, press the botton and you can hear the motor but the top is not coming down. Could be a simple fix or ???.
Overall, this Lincoln would be a great candidatefor someone looking for a driver or great car to restore. Some work would make this a great car to be a driver ( hoses, tires, going thru the checklist ).
