Description

From the hills of Pennsylvania. This Auction is for a 1969 Lincoln Continental MKIII. It has a factory 365 HP 460 Thunderbird V-8. The car was loaded with options for that time. It has power seats, power windows, PB, PS, The original Continental ID tag is under the hood.. (see pic) and the car also has the door ID tag. (see pic)The car has 96,331 miles. The engine runs smooth with lots of power and NO knocks, pings or hammering. The car runs, drives, shifts smooth and goes down the road straight. The large white wall tires have excellent tread and are still fairly new. For those of you who might not know what your seeing when you look at the pic of the tire tread please know the outer two tire treads are molded to give the appearance of the original bias tire tread patterns while giving the traction and performance of modern steel belted tires. The floors still show the factory stamping.(see underside Pics) Some things to note. While the car looks perfect there are some dents and dings on the very rear driver side.(see pic) The gas gauge sticks at times. The car has a Cartier dash clock. clock does not work. There are brand new spare power window motors and a power seat motor still in the box if ever needed that go with the car. These are a great thing to have even if you never need to use them as they are expensive. The radio works intermittently possibly due to a bad replacement antenna connection. The car was repainted years ago and still has a lot of reflection and shine on it most likely due to being garaged. There are some pics of very lightweight magnets sticking all along the bottom and around wheel wells of the car to show that there is metal. While there is evidence of some fill used when it was repainted as typical, it is NOT sculpted out of 5 gallons of bondo like many of them that show up for sale. The trunk and floors feel very solid.(see pics) You can stomp up and down on them and you are not going to fall through. The frame is solid. The car has brand new dual exhaust, mufflers and tail pipes.(see pics) The car has been serviced, maintained, and driven throughout its life. Please Note:This is an Antique/Classic car. As typical due to its age It is being sold as/is where /is for restoration. It may have or show signs of wear, tear, fade, chip, haze, crack, weathering, rust, age, swirl, ding, dent, and or other signs of deterioration and may require maintenance, service, replacement, repair of any and or all components. The 1969 Model Lincoln Continental Mark 3 was the first year model year for the big Thunderbird 460 v-8 engine being used. The Thunderbird engine emblems on the bottom of the front fenders were not added by someone. They are original as the car would came from the factory. The car has the distinguished flip up headlights and other unique design features such as the long front hood, sleek stance and Continental spare tire incorporated into the rear trunk and bumper. Out of the almost 40,000 Lincoln Continentals produced in 1969 only a little over 9,000 of these beautiful coupes were made. The gentleman who last owned it had his mechanic install many new suspension parts such as tie rod ends, bushings, brakes, ect. The car rides beautifully and steers straight when going down the road. Also a new master cylinder and new alternator along with the full legth dual exhaust that was just done. I have driven the car several hundred miles and would feel comfortable driving anywhere with it or even taking a cross country trip. The car is not perfect but it looks the part and still looks stunningly beautiful. When you drive it you will fall in love with it if you haven't already. I hope the car goes to someone that always wanted one and will enjoy it. If you always wanted one then here is one you can afford without spending $30,000 or $40,000.
