Now recognized by the Museum of Modern Art as one of only eight automotive works of art, the Lincoln Continental Mark I was the cherished project of Edsel Ford with final production design by Bob Gregorie, chief stylish at the time. Produced in limited numbers beginning in 1940, only 847 Cabriolet's would be produced in this final year of 1948. This example is finished in tasteful Moss Green. It is powered by its correct 305 cubic inch 130 horsepower flathead V-12 engine. This is a car that is a pleasure to drive. Be sure to check out the special road test & tour video of this Lincoln -

The exterior paint and body are in very good condition. The doors, trunk and hood align correctly. There are some minor paint flaws, nothing serious (see photos) altogether a nice older restoration.

The power-operated convertible top works and is in excellent condition, complimented by a convertible top boot. The power windows are also functional.
THere are some things that still need restoring. The carpet is OK at best, but not a major job.

Open the doors to 1948. The interior is in good condition, needing just a few minor repairs.
Notice the steering wheel made of bakelite which was very popular in the 40s for car accessories as well as jewelry. You will see it as well on the door locks and on some of the dash knobs.

The upholstery is in very good condition front to back. The brightwork is just striking throughout the interior. These cars were absolutely overbuilt. This example is an exceptional one and a joy to cruise in.

Under the hood is the flathead V12 engine. It starts every time on teh first try. THis is a great Lincoln. This engine compartment appears to be correct throughout down to the breather and firewall identification plates.

You will also notice the original wiring which at some point should all be replaced.

The Vin# is stamped into the frame.

The undercarriage also appears to be in very good condition.
