Minty 1976 Lincoln MK IV - 44,000 miles - True Survivor
Description
You are bidding on a Minty 1976 Lincoln Mark IV with only 44,000 original miles on the clock.
A true Survivor. Even the original window sticker is here. The owners manual and all maintenance paperwork is here too. I wouldn't call her a barn find, per se, as she was garage kept her entire life.
Here are a few videos of the car:

The interior - minty. Now, it's difficult to preserve a car for 40 years. So, there may be small imperfections, but there is no tearing, or obvious fading of the fabric. All of the glass is excellent condition, all power windows work well - radio plays fine and is actually not bad - considering the car is from 1976. The interior is fabric. An overstuffed couch, really. Interior lights all work very well also. Carpet is very clean and stain free.
Tidy inside.
The glass is clean and clear, the windshield is free of cracks or blemishes.
The windows work perfectly. All of the gauges work and there are no lights on (meaning no malfunctions). The radio works as intended, which is fine. I'd update the speakers if I was keeping her.
The power seats work great. The bench seat is, of course, very comfortable. There is no tilt steering however. The Cartier clock is set prominently in the gauge cluster.
The climate control appears to work fine, but I would convert it to 834. I can't really tell if the A/C is cold, as it's still winter here in Chicago (in April!)
Again, the carpet is in excellent condition with no staining. All of the seatbelts are here and not stained in any way. There are two floor mats, but are in average condition.
The wipers work great. The remote mirrors (both doors) operate well.
The exterior is in excellent condition. Remember, she is 43 years old now - and there are a few minor areas that require attention. Nothing major - and she is rust free - but a small area or two of paint bubbling. A quick sand and sprayof those areas and she'll be fine. Touch up only, but as a survivor, you may not want to fix these areas. See pics.
The vinyl top is in excellent condition, no tears or discoloration. The trim at the bottom of the drivers side is stretching slightly. See pics.
The chrome and trim are in excellent, pit free, condition. A good part of it is stainless and in great condition.
The headlights operate perfectly.
The car starts, runs and shifts like new. We did a complete tuneup of the car when we bought her last summer. Took it to a car show and noticed leaking around the water pump so I added a NEW water pump and thermostat.
The tune up included points, plugs, oil and air filter too.
The hood is impossible long. We took at video from a camera placed on the roof. Makes for good watching. There is also a walk around video for your viewing pleasure :)
The grill is in excellent condition and the trunk looks new (see pics). Full size spare and jack, etc. are all there.
The rims polished up beautifully and the tires are nearly new.
Brakes are in excellent condition and stops very well.
If you haven't driven a Mark IV, you are in for a treat. Smooth. Very smooth. Shifts are nearly imperceptible. The steering is over boosted but great. She is truly a pleasure to drive. Extremely quiet too. She just floats, period.
She is long too. Elegant and classy.
If you are looking at the listing, you already know. A classic and a true collectible.
Due to her age, she is being sold as-is, where is. No warranty or expressed or implied. Inspections are highly recommended. Additional pictures are available upon request - just ask. I've described the car to the best of my knowledge - your perception of "excellent" or "good" may be different from mine.
I've placed a reasonable reserve on the car, however, above that reserve, she will sell.
The car is located in Lake Forest, IL zip code 60045. I can assist with shipping but am not a broker or dealer. I cannot keep the car very long after purchase. Two weeks max.
Thanks for looking. Good Luck.
