Description

1 of only 452 cabriolet made in 1948. The last year of this style. Genuine full classic as distinguished by Classic Car Club of America. Ground up restored in 1992 and winner of the prestigious AACA national 1 st place Junior and Senior awards. It is from the estate of a collector who took excellent care of it.
EXTERIOR: It certainly has proven itself! This paint job is 28 years old and it looks like it was done yesterday. I just went around it twice, I don't see any cracking, damage or rust. There are very insignificant little Nick's and touch ups. The body is absolutely straight, panels fit real well. The paint is polished so smooth and glossy it is like a mirror. The chrome and trim is gorgeous. Standing next to the car it looks new. Every piece is shiny including the pot metal grill, chrome bumpers, moldings, bezels etc. The hubcaps are polished and have the Lincoln script emblems. The wide white walls still look good. Features include a continental tire in back, big fender skirts and very unique push button door openers. The convertible top is a tan Haartz cloth in excellent condition. It has it's glass rear window. The top is power and works.
INTERIOR: It is restored beautifully inside. When I say it has a leather interior, I mean it is all leather. The seats are completely leather, the door panels, armrests and even the visors. No vinyl, it is all glove soft. The plastic red plastic knobs on the power window switches, vent windows cranks, push button door openers, shift knob and cigarette lighters are excellent. The red steering wheel is excellent, no cracks. The dash area is beautiful. The metal is painted nice, chrome is bright, gauges are clean. The red carpet is real nice. It has a clock, radio, heater and power windows!
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The V-12 engine's reputation is it runs as quiet as a mouse with slippers. The engine compartment has obviously been apart and restored. The motor was rebuilt at the time of restoration. Everything looks proper. It has the right Ford hoses and clamps, radiator cap, air cleaner, even the correct horns look restored. It has cloth wrapped wiring. It also has original remote oil filter. The hydraulic pump that operates the windows and top is in the motor compartment.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Inside the trunk is completely carpeted. The carpet has bound and sewn edges. It also includes a box with some miscellaneous extra Parts the original jack is in a custom made canvas pouch. There is a black pouch with original tools.
UNDERSIDE: The bottom looks solid. It was cleaned and freshened up with black paint. The motor and trans are both clean. The muffler looks new.
Very few cars after 1940 were considered "classics". This Lincoln was very deserving. It was such an elegant and exclusive car then and today. Being a classic solidifies it's value and allows it to participate in CCCA caravans and events. This one is in excellent condition.
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle.
