1951 Lincoln Cosmopolitan
Description
This 1951 Lincoln Cosmo is a rare, solid, driver-quality car. These cars have a low survival rate, so meeting yourself on the road is a rarity. This car has over $17,000 in documented restoration from the previous owner in California. Since then, over $12,000 has been spent on converting to a 12 volt electrical system, replacing cylinder heads, new dual exhaust (great sound!), new fuel pump, and most "soft" mechanical items (belts, pulleys, hoses, etc.). All improvements, replacements, etc. are documented in complete vehicle history binders. New tires and battery were put on in 2008, as well as the fuel tank being resealed, and transmission inspected and serviced. The Carburetor was rebuilt in 2010. All functions of the car work except clock, radio, and amp meter. An add-on voltmeter was added below the dash. All four hydraulic windows are in excellent working condition (rare). 50s cars are as much art as they are machine; and this one is no exception. It is a great cruising car, and with as much air moves through it, it is comfortable even in the hot summer months. It has been garage kept in climate and humidity control, and is in excellent shape inside and out. It is currently a part of a 25 car plus collection and unfortunately must be moved on. Please call me (Joe) at 260.316.7227 for further details, or to make an offer. The car is for sale locally and I do reserve the right to end the auction at any time.
