Description

**PLEASE SCROLL DOWN THE AD LISTING PAGE TO VIEW A COMPLETE SET OF DETAILED PHOTOS OF THE VEHICLE**Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this very original Lotus Europa Special. This car was purchased from Santa Rosa, California and is believed to be a California car from new. The original owner for the car is believed to be the individual still on title from 1975, and resided in the city of Westwood near Los Angeles. The current mileage on the car is 30,197 and is believed to be 100% correct and original. The car was apparently only driven for 4 years until 1977, which was it's last registration date, and then put into storage. The car still retains, what we believe, is the original rear tire pair labeled as "Dunlop Formula 70" brand. The body on this car is very good. The panels all fit well with the exception of the LH door front leading edge is a little proud of the windshield pillar. The car's original paint is worn and is crazed/cracked in some areas, which is typical of fiberglass painted bodies over the years. The car's windshield is missing, most likely from being damaged and then removed. We've seen new Triplex ones in the past on Ebay for $450. The car's front and underside is beautifully well-preserved like it should be for a 30,000 mile car.Underneath, the chassis and components are very clean, further testament to the car's low original mileage. The engine in the car turns nicely when the car is put into gear and rolled along. I'm sure there's a good chance it will run well once the fuel system is serviced and a battery is hooked up. The car would also need a brake service to drive. The car's interior is in excellent original condition with near perfect seats/ door panels/ original but lightly weathered carpets. The dashboard wood has deteriorated and would definitely need replacement. The steering column is loose along with the dash facia, most likely in an attempt to free the steering lock. The dash top pad could use an easy recovering. The car still retains the rare windshield surround trim, still serviceable. There is also a box of extra bits that go with the car including plug wires and cap, rear view mirror, lug wrench, original jack and handle, old original CA registrations from 1977, windshield wipers, etc.Overall, a rare opportunity to acquire a low mileage, highly original Europa Twin Cam in a rare and unusual period color. The car could be an easy car for improvement still retaining most of it's mint condition interior parts, and could potentially have a very good driveline, once running and driving.
