Classic 1991 Mazda Miata - Red and Ready - A Two Owner Texas Car! No Reserve!
Description
You are bidding (no reserve) on a very respectable vintage 1991 Mazda Miata convertible. Rare automatic transmission model, with just two owners only...both in Texas...the original female owner (who sold me the car with only 87,000 miles) and then myself purchasing it in August 2010.
Vehicle is a 1991 model and now has total 102,000 miles which makes it 25 years old at an average of only 4,800 miles per year. InTexas, any 25 year old (or older) car iseligible for a "antique" license plate, using TexDot form VTR-54...the registration fees for this car would be only $50 for five years! How much do you pay for your Texas vehicle registration on your current vehicle?
Since ownership, the vehicle has been maintained very well, oil changes EVERY 3,000 miles, replaced spark plugs and wires, valve cover gasket, recent front brake service with pads with all new hardware, recent installation of airconditioning compressor, newer tires on rear, and other minormaintenance items. Recent service of the automatic transmission, including filter, vacuumswitch and oil. Note the automatic transmission will hesitate onoccasion, when shifting from 1stto 2nd gear...letting off of the gas slightly when starting out from 1st helps it shift to 2nd sooner...don't know why...but it does.
Vehicle looks swell, a minor ding here or there (common door digs from idiots at the shopping mall), and maybe could use some polish on the paint, and perhaps detail of theinterior, but this littleconvertible is all original and shows very well. New owner may want to attend to a minor engine oil leak common to these vintage Miata's...fix is to replace a rubber o-ring where the distributor shaft attaches to the engine. Engine oil leaks about a dime size over several days...but looks like it's coming from a rear main oil seal...which itisn't!It's been doing this since I purchased the car, and hasn't bothered me. Also, original cloth top is showing its age...plasticwindow is very clear, but the top when up and at freeway speeds, gets a "bubble" on the top, due to the doodads which hold the cloth to the top frame hardware.
Vehicle lives in my enclosed warehouse, out of the elements and has never been left outside for more than a day or two. You are welcome to come visit (or send a third party) to inspect the car, here in the lovely Texas town called Brenham (halfway between Houston and Austin on HWY 290). Just call or email for an appointment.
A $500 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit is due 24 hours at closing of auction and may be payable with PayPal...but only deposit...balance due in cash at pickup...within 7 days (I'm flexible on this) of receipt of deposit. Note my 100% positive feedback on stuff large and small...including vehicles and motorcycles.
