Description

Up for sale is this well preserved, maintained and great running 1984 Mazda Rx7 GSL with 5-speed manual and only 105,000 original miles. I acquired this Rx7 from the second owner who had the car in his family for over 20 years. Most of the miles were put on from 1984-1991 by the original owner in Texas. The second owner family owned the car in Texas, later moved to Florida and used it only sparingly as a weekend cruiser. It is 100% rust free and has always been garaged. The paint is original and still has wonderful shine and only a few minor dings and blemishes.
This car just passed a rigorous Virginia State inspection (March 2018 sticker) and has a clear Virginia title. I wouldn't hesitate to drive this cross-country tomorrow. If you are looking for a cool and reliable 1970's/80's vintage sports car but you've been priced out of the Datsun 280z, BMW 2002, Porsche 944 market etc, consider the high reving, fast acceleration of the rotary powered first generation Rx7. Hagerty price guide in #2 condition is $9,200 and this car meets that condition level.

There are two minor issues that the next owner may or may not want to attend to... 1) both electric windows go up and down slower than usual. 2)the lower plastic lip under the front end has been removed after various scrapes with parking lot stops. Replacements are under $150 if you choose to put one back on.
Here's a chance to affordably acquire a mechanically sorted first generation Rx7 with all the right improvements (exhaust, suspension, 15" wheels/tires etc). I have $9,000 invested, so I am offering this car at a loss. I just lowered the price for a quick sale. If you're in Virginia, I may have some trade interest for a 60's vintage Sunbeam Alpine, MGB or MGB GT, Saab 96 or Volvo 1800. Email me for more info.
