Description

WHAT is an Exocet and why did I find this for sale ad?

The Exocet is a tube frame kit car based on the Mazda Miata. Built in Atlanta, Ga based on a significantly refined version of the original British chassis, the American Exocet is a street driveable open cockpit car that is an absolute performance monster. Exocets often have a better power to weight ratio that super cars costing 10x as much and generate easily as much interest from the public (if you're into that sort of thing). This Exocet has bested a local Ferrari 458 driven by a local track member who races in the Ferrari Challenge series. Typically the fastest car at HPDE events.
Summary:
Track proven Exocet
Highly reliable over 5,000 street miles
Very Fun HPDE event (on par with a well driven Corvette Z06 / 911 / Ferrari 458)
Extremely low cost of consumables / general running costs
Fully street legal and insurable in Georgia with emissions exemption even for Clean Air Campaign counties (also retains original ECU if needed for your location)
Built right, finished right, cared for
So, can you drive it on the street?
Absolutely! It's taggable and insureable in Georgia and many other states.
Ok, so why get rid of it?
Family is growing and this is not used as much anymore. It needs to go to someone who will enjoy it as much as I have in these past few years.
Other notable facts:
EXTREMELY inexpensive to run, performance beyond what most HPDE drivers will ever master (myself included), attention grabbing, utterly impractical and guaranteed to put a smile on your face any time your drive it!
Consumables (brakes, tires, etc) last about 2x as long as they do on a Miata track car. The extreme airflow over tires, brakes and the engine help keep everything cool and operating as it should. Running at 2/3 of the intended weight the entire system is under stressed.
