1979 Mercedes 300SD
Description
Well maintained 300SD. I scoured the earth for a car that did not have major corrosion issues and a good interior.Car was purchased by Original Owner who used the European Delivery Program. You purchase car from Mercedes in Germany, Fly out and "tour" the car. Then Mercedes ships the car to your country of residence. This was popular with the Military and it was purchased by an old army Col.
Car is is not show qualify but daily driver.
The only thing that does not work is the rear passenger window sometimes will "stick" and not roll down.
A/c works, Heater, climate control. Has a very expensive bluetooth stereo by retro sounds.
Speakers actually sound pretty good for such an old car. No rips or tears in any of the seats. Starts right up.
New glow Plugs. Recent transmission service with Redline synthetic. Synthetic eng oil, synthetic diff fluid.
Dash is showing some small cracks but still has some life left.
Tires are newer with approx 3,000 miles on them.
Unknown Mileage. The Injector pump is not original to the car, so there engine may not be original as well. Car cruises 80MPH all day long and burns about 1/8th qt of oil ever 3,000 miles.
Cruise control works.
Buy it and drive it home or have it shipped.
Car does need front and rear window seals to be replaced. Many parts are still made for this car.
The bad: My motorcycle fell on the drivers side door. Large crease type dent in the door ( pictured).
I would simply replace door for the easiest fix.
Odometer does not work ( A shop in Austin TX will repair for 80 bucks)
Fontal area around headlights has some minor pitting and such and wear. Car could use a pint job eventually but is fine as-is.
Any questions feel free to reach out.
