1972 Mercedes Benz 280 SE 4.5 W108
Description
We have for sale a very nice 1972 Mercedes Benz 280SE 4.5. This car was optioned with the rare, 4.5 liter single over head cam electronic fuel injected V8. The car was purchased originally at Stahl Motors in Monterey, CA. The car was driven daily in California until the original owners passing. The was then brought to Albuquerque, NM by the original owners sister. She began to drive the car until her husbands passing in the early 2000's where it was then parked under a tree until a short time ago. Since then, we have installed the following new parts:TiresFuel filter and fuel tank strainerAll new fuel lines under the hood4) brand new beltsNew batteryFresh oil changeCap, rotor, spark plug wires, and spark plugsNew exhaust mounting donutsNew valve cover gasketsThe car was then driven daily for 3 weeks, around 600 miles. It starts right away, every time and runs ok. The car does have a loud exhaust leak from underneath the intake manifold, it progressivelygot worse so we stopped driving the car two weeks ago. It is 100% complete! Everything is original and in great shape considering the age of the car. The power steering works flawlessly, the brakes work but are a little stiff. The car handles great and cruises on the highway at 70MPH fantastic. The horn, turn signals, wipers, headlights, seatbelts and all other necessary things function well. The sunroof operates freely with no issues, the drivers side windows work well, the passenger side windows work but move up very slowly. All of the locks work, the car comes with the factory spare tire, jack, tool kit, owners manual, dealer brochures, and all of the maintenancereceipts from purchase to now. There are no tears, rips or cuts in the seats or headliner. The Carpet is in beautiful shape, at some point another set of floormats was placed over the original floormats to further protect the carpet. The dash has two small cracks, the steering wheel has the typical crack in the middle spoke on the left side. The radio bezel comes with car but is not attached, the radio does function but the volume control is stuck on LOUD. In typical 280 fashion, the climate control knobs are broken off, an easy $200 fix. The paint is in nice original shape, there is a spot on the passenger fender where the paint was messed up and touched up poorly, other wise it is very nice. There is absolutelyno visible rust! The car is listed with NO RESERVE, high bidder wins. Please ask all questions before bidding, more pics can be provided upon request. Thanks for looking and good luck!
