1972 Mercedes-Benz 350SL 4.5L 51k Miles Stunning Color and Beautiful Car
Description
Stunning...best word to describe this car. The pictures on this listing do not due it the proper justice on this Mercedes 350SL. It is much better in person that the pictures show. This is a rare, 1 year only model, the 1972 350SL. These cars were the first run models after the retirement of the long produced and loved pagoda model. Though labeled as a 350SL, it actually has the 4.5L V8 engine. This is hands down one of the prettiest examples, light, rare color 906 Blue, narrow bumpers, and low miles. Take a look at the pictures, and email me if you want additional ones (I have about 75) to determine if this is worthy of your collection.
The INTERIOR of the SL is EXCELLENT. The seller represented to me that the interior is original to the car. It looks to be nearly perfect. Seats are soft leather and subtle, no cracks or splits. Dash is crack free as is the center console. Original Becker radio still works, as do the rest of the equipment. A/C is not blowing cold, but compressor is kicking on and running cool(ish). Windows go up and down, interior lights are working and odometer is operational as are all the instruments. Carpet is grey in color and looks almost new, not matted down and good pile.
The EXTERIOR of the SL is EXCELLENT. It has been repainted in its original color. I would call it show quality, not concours. There is a minor not quite dime size paint blemish on the hood and small paint drip on the bottom near rocker panel that you can only see at the right light and angle. Otherwise, excellent. All the chrome is highly polished with zero blemishes, glass is all original, body panels have zero rust or evidence of repair. Underside of the car is rust free and appears to be all original free of replacements. Jack points are good, and also free of corrosion. All exterior lighting is operational. Trunk is free of rust as well, and contains original rubber mat and tool kit. Wheels are Bundts with full tread tires free of curb rash and look excellent. The convertible top looks brand new, no cracks and windows are crystal clear with zero wear marks anywhere. Top is black in color, matching the interior color.
Other items of interest. This SL comes with tool kit, two top removal "spoons" in carrying case, owners manual, original vehicle data card, maintenance book, tire removal instruction cards, emission manual, owners electrical diagram, and maintenance records for the past 20 years. Car starts up on first crank and idles as it should.
So if you have read this far, my overall viewpoint on this car is it is an excellent example. It would be excellent to drive on nice days or keep in a collection and watch it appreciate. If you have questions or would like additional pictures, please message me and I will get back to you.
