For your consideration is one very nice strong running 1973 Mercedes Benz Original U.S. Model 450SL Roadster with original removable hard top! This car is a prime example of a true "Rust Free Body No Accident" California car! The body lines on the car are straight as an arrow as the attached photos will attest to! The car is currently registered as a Non-Opp with the California DMV and there are no back fees owed on it! The car has not been driven for the past 12 years and has been properly stored inside for this complete duration of time! The car runs very well especially considering the fact that it was not driven for the entire 12 year period! The car comes with receipts for a valve job that was performed on its original motor back in 1995 and only ended up having an additional 22,000 miles put on itover a 9 year period which ended just prior to it being put into storage in 2004! The one receipt for the work that was done on the car was done by one of the most reputable independent Mercedes Benz repair shops in Santa Barbara California for $6,426.50 worth of repair work which entailed the full valve job, replacing the rear brake caliper, replacing the drive line center support and doing a power steering box reseal! A total of 96 parts were replaced on the car on this one receipt alone! There is an additional receipt for a brand new replacement fuel pump for $648.50! The car had one repaint close to 25 years ago in red and is due for a repaint again due to the paint being completely age faded! The jams were also repainted at the same time in red to match the body color. The Original factory color of this car is Sand Beige Metallic. Very visible Original remnants of the factory applied Sand Beige paint color can still quite easily be viewed when looking under the hood inside the engine bay. The car still retains its original Palomino interior which is in over all very nice original condition with the only noticeable flaws being a few age cracks in the upper part of the dash panel which is to be expected from a car that is 43 years old! Many aspects of the interior and exterior trim on this car are very unique and hard to find and were only available for the first two years of production of the W107 body which only became available as a "New Production Model" just one year prior to the production year of this car! The first two years of production were the "Only" years that featured the thinner much more elegant and highly sought after European Style chrome bumpers and "Cat's Eye" style front turn indicator lamps that this car was originally equipped with from the factory in Germany! The exterior chrome mirrors found on this car are like wise unique to only the first two years of production of the W107 chassis as well! This being noted it must also be stated that all of the factory applied chrome plated exterior appointments on this car "Including the complete front grille assembly which incorporates the "Very Rare" All Metal Grille Star" are all in exceptional condition having a very brilliant luster! Certain inside appointments of the car such as the steering wheel and smaller chrome plated hard top lock down covers are very unique and only apply to the first two years of production of the W107 chassis as well! The original books are included in the original Mercedes booklet holder along with an Original tool kit! The car also preserves both of its Original rubber trunk mats which are so hard to find these days in nice shape! The car has a clean California title.
