This is a matching #'s, one owner, always garaged in a climate controlled environment, zero rust with aclean undercarriage. Still showing the factory rubber undercoating. Detailed documented miles & maintenance, original paint, interior, euro bumpers, manual sunroof, hand crank windows. Only shipped to the United States from '68 to ’72. A true time capsule vehicle.
Car History
The car spent 48 years in Sonoma County, California under the same owner, still wearing the original California blue plate. The car was driven by Mr. Heinz the long time owner until his passing in 2010 driven sparingly for the following 7 years by his estate.
**The mileage is very detailed and documented at 113,000 miles. Mr. Heinz did a great job documenting everything, as well as keeping receipts. The odometer being only 5 digits reads 13,000 butunlike many early Mercedes you'll find on here, the mileage of 113,000 is known and exact.
ExteriorInterior
The interior is as clean as I've ever seen an unrestored vehicle of this age look.
The car comes with vintage matching floor mats as well as spare tire cover— both in very good condition.
Mechanically
The car runs strong and drives great. The handling is tight, the transmission shifts smoothly and the brakes stop on a dime. Runs free from any noises or squeaks. This is a very zippy car with lots of power!
With any old car, up-keep will be needed and there will always be something to keep up on. For me, that’s half the fun. This has to be one of the nicest 4 speed on floor w114s in this condition.
Improvements
I've made several mechanic improvements to bring the car back up to speed after its short stint of not being driven.
The carburetor fuel lines have been replaced, both Zenith carbs have been completely overhauled, being timed and cleaned with new gaskets. Additional improvements include:
With proper care, this car is only going to appreciate in value. I would be keeping it, but just don't have the garage space. It deserves a climate controlled garage to continue its exceptional overseeing. I’m hoping to find a new home that suits this car. I've been told by my master Mercedes Mechanic that this car could easily be a Concourse 1 vehicle with a minor investment- the paint could use a professional rotary polish, three dime size dings could be tapped smooth. rear trunk chrome has two dings and the left bumper rubber has a small crack but that's me being hyper critical. I can't stress how clean and original this vehicle is.
