1993 Mercedes Benz 190e 2.6 Sportline Limited Edition
Description
You are looking at a VERY rare Mercedes Benz. The luxury German automaker decided in 1993 to send off the iconic (and now much sought after) w201 class with a bang, and created the rare flagship model you see here- the 1993 190e 2.6 Sportline Limited Edition.
Limited to a total production number of 700 examples, the 2.6 Sportline LE was offered only in Black with Grey cladding and the unbelievably beautiful 2+2 Black and Red full leather factory interior made by Recaro, and carbon fiber interior trim. The Sportline model also included a unique sport tuned suspension, with factory lowered ride height, larger wheels and tires, larger sway bars, a close ration steering box and smaller diameter steering wheel. Adding to that exclusivity is the fact this is the last year the 190e was produced. Again, this car is truly a German Unicorn.

One of my childhood dream cars, I searched for the right example for nearly 20 years to find one in the condition you see here, and was only recently purchased from the ORIGINAL OWNER who in 23 years only put a total of 93,000 miles. This car was his baby, and was purchased to become mine, sadly due to personal reasons we (and by we I mean my wife) have to reluctantly sell it.
If you are familiar with this vintage of Mercedes Benz, and if you're looking at this car I imagine you are, you know they are considered the last of the bulletproof "real" MBs. Known to be nearly maintenance free and run forever. This example is worthy of that description. Its inline 6 cylinder is healthy, powerful, and smooth. When I bought the car last month I immediately replaced the water pump (a known weak point) with a brand new Mercedes OE pump, thermostat, and temp sensor to the tune of $1500. The car runs, drives and stops as it should. The brakes are new, the motor has been serviced, and the transmission shifts nice and firm. The paint appears to be all original and, despite the typical small scratches and dents you'd expect on any 23 year old used vehicle, still shines nicely. Carfax confirms this is a one owner, accident free, very low mileage vehicle with no surprises.
I am happy to discuss any questions or concerns you may have, but please ask prior to bidding. The car is located on Long Island, NY and, while I'm happy to assist, shipping will be the responsibility of the buyer. The car is currently being driven and so actual mileage may go up slightly. A $1000 non refundable deposit will be required at the close of auction, and full payment will be expected within three days of close. As with any used vehicle, this car is being sold as-is. Thanks for viewing!
