MERCEDES BENZ 560 SEC 2-DOOR COUPE
Description
This is a very cool, fun to drive car. It is not perfect, however, it will make an awesome daily driver or a great project.
The car runs and drives well, no real issues. I drive it to work often. My commute is only 1-1/2 miles, so it does not get a lot of miles each week.
I replaced the instrument cluster a while ago, since the odometer stopped working at 208K miles. The instrument cluster that was installed shows around 203K miles.
Here is a quick rundown of the car:
Cruise control works, however, it will occasionally surge and then turn off.
The wipers will work on speed#2, however, they momentarily stop, then start again on speed#1. I read that the contacts inside the motor need to be cleaned.
The car occasionally hesitates when driving from a stop. A mechanic told me the fuel pressure regulator needs to be replaced; it's about $300.
The car has a new stereo in it with three amps in the trunk and two subwoofers. I did not connect the subwoofers and get them working. I was told by a stereo tech that one of the channels on one of the amps is bad. The stereo/radio does work fine. The driver side speaker is not working, only because of the amplifier. The stereo and pseakers are new.
The power antenna also needs to be replaced.
Overall, the car is in great shape. It drives nice, has leather interior, very comfortable. When you are cruising ad you punch it, it will take off. It runs very strong.
I have maintenance records that go back to the 90s.
It was originally owned by a Hollywood executive, Ron Myers. Still have some old paperwork.
The car has 20" Asanti rims. Tires are good.
