Description

This lovely car runs as good as it looks. It has a factory rebuilt 1982 engine, same engine as original except the later one uses the more efficientmodern rotary A/C compressor. There is a plate riveted to the front of the block that is put there by the factory when they rebuild an engine. It's a little too hidden to get a decent pic of it but it can be seen just to the left of the light in a picture, to the upper right of the water pump. Hard to see with all the things in the way but hopefully it shows well enough. Transmission is also from an '82, better unit than the earlier design. Engine was fitted without the turbo set up for ease of maintenance and better fuel mileage, original turbo unit is available with the car if desired. The list of recent work is extensive, including but not limited to regular oil and filter changes using Delo 400 15/40W Diesel grade oil, tires 12K miles ago, alternator and battery, brakes, cooling system (radiator, water pump, thermostat, belts, hoses, pressure tank and cap), suspension front and rear as required, valves adjusted, air and fuel filters, transmission filter, fuel hoses, A/C serviced including new hoses, receiver-drier and expansion valve, new oil cooler hoses, driveshaft couplings and center bearing, motor and trans mounts and more. The very problematic original climate control servo has been removed, the A/C and heater controls are manually operated now.The car will start right up in below freezing temperatures easily and also has a block heater for really frigid climes. And it holds it's engine temperature at normal while running the A/C in Tucson summers.Absolutely guaranteed to be a rust free AZ car, never wrecked. This is a rare classic car that can be a daily driver as well as a solid road trip car. I am currently using it to commute a 35 mile round trip 3 days a week so the mileage will be increasing until it sells.Apparently this is not a good time to sell a classic car. I have priced this car very reasonably but 2 listings with no sale. I'm wondering if someone knows of any other car anywhere near this price range that is as reliable, classy, comfortable, economical and safe and will continue to be so literally for decades to come? Or at least for as long as we are allowed to drive ourselves....When I built this car I was planning onneverselling it as one might surmise by all the work done, but life is what happens while we are making plans they say. Someone is going to get the benefits of my investment for pennies on the dollar. While this personal account is new, I have been selling on eBay for years at bcstucson and emcincaz as part of my job. Any questions or concerns will be promptly addressed. If you have any questions or want to see specific pics let me know and I will do my best to accommodateyou. I encourage anyone interested to message me through eBay or call to talk about the car. 520-419-2628. Thanks for checking out this listing.
