Super low mileage Mercedes-Benz 500 SL Excellent Condition 31k miles

Description

It took me years to find a prime, ultra low-mileage example of the classic 500SL R129. In order to provide more background on the vehicle, I have complied the information that I have from my current ownership and its three previous owners.
This 500SL was sold new by Kea Motor Car Group in New York in June of 1993. The first owner of this highly-optioned sports car was Wend Wendenburg, an executive with Centrico Inc in New Jersey. In 1997, the car was traded in at the Kea Motor Car Group with only 6,558 miles on the odometer and resold to Donna Berard-Vassilatos for $55,822 (dealership invoice is present and included). The car was serviced at the original dealership until 2001. Eventually, the third owner took the car to Arizona in 2010 where it has resided since. The detailed documentation underscores the care that the car has received over its lifespan. The odometer stands now at a verifiable (through records and repair receipts) 30,900 miles (this may change as car is still being driven).
According to the Carfax, the car seems to be accident-free for its entire life. All the body panels still boast the original ID stickers and no replacements body parts are discernible. There are only a couple of very minor flaws that are barely visible to the untrained eye. The only one I found is a small scratch on the rear left fender. All the glass is in excellent condition.
The V8 starts up on the first crank and runs strongly and evenly through all rev ranges. The transmission shifts smoothly and without hesitation.
The car received a Kenwood radio in 2015. The radio is equipped with Bluetooth and a convenient microphone for hands-free conversation. Important to note: the original Mercedes Becker radio is included with the car. The climate control works like new: A/C blows ice cold from all vents and the heater blows warm as desired. The original Mercedes car phone, a very high-end feature in 1993, is included in the sale. Also present (but not pictured) is the original Mercedes windscreen in excellent condition.
The power seats work like new. Even the original softtop appears like new as does the hardtop.The wheels belie their age and are without any curb rash or scratches. As you would expect with an ultra-low mileage car, the interior is in extraordinary shape. The leather and wood exhibit only the most minute flaws.
All original factory manuals, maintenance booklets with original sleeve, and a binder with all available maintenance and repair records come with the car. This is truly an excellent, high-quality collector vehicle and a rare one at that. With only 6,090 built in 1993, it is a unique car and you probably will not encounter another one like it.
The car has a clear and clean Arizona title with “A” box mileage. No liens. I will gladly work with your shipper to load the vehicle. Of course, you may also pick up the vehicle and drive it home. Also, I encourage you to have a pre-purchase inspection completed before you bid on the vehicle. I can reserve a lift for you or your appraiser/mechanic at the shop that has done the maintenance over the last couple of years (the shop is in Phoenix near the airport).

The successful high bidder will submit a $500 non-refundable PayPal deposit within 2 business days of the close of the auction to secure the vehicle.
