Description

Rare and nearly mint. 99K subject to change as I drive it a little bit more.Stored in heated garage.Wonderful color combo. Metallic paint gleams and soft interior MBTex shines.
I have owned a lot of these W123 TurboCoupes over the years, and this is the nicest one. Paring down my car collection now due to upcoming move.
Here is all the good stuff:
Rear windows work well- no binding, smooth, fast.AC blows cold. The sunroof, original antenna, radio, windows and cruise, work well and smoothly.
All original Import papers, bill of sale, ID plate, glove box items, service records, repair history documents, tools, spare, original leather key fob, OG keys, original muffler, all upholstery smooth, no cracks or hard rubber, chrome all sharp not chalked, all glass is OG and minty- no chips, cracks, fogging, all decals mint and in place.
Transmission shifts crisply and smoothly- no telltale slippage, jerking, etc. Engine cold start is a bit rough for first 3 minutes, probably because it sits for months between my occasional drives, but right away after start it runs flawlessly with smooth, fast and powerful handling, stopping and starting. The oil pressure is strong and steady at the top of the gauge.
Small flaws:The visor mirror door flaps have cracks, I have replacements but have not finished installation. I replaced the dash light with LED and did not tighten the oil supply well- I got some oil drops on the protective vintage carpet "300 CD logo" floormat, its been cleaned but slight shadow still there. Two tiny scratches- one fender, one wheel lip, pictures on photo bucket. That's really about it, this is the most perfect 300CD turbodiesel, of the 15 or so of this rare model that I have owned over the past 20 years.
It is very satisfying and smooth to drive and just looks great standing still, too.
Needs nothing- mechanics, tires etc all in top shape-addressed as needed. Can drive across country with confidence and style. This is a German tank and an Autobahn rocket all in one. Fewer than 1900 were built making a highly collectible pinnacle of Benz design and quality and very limited product. I don't think you will see one as complete functional and cosmetically nice as this anywhere again soon.
Tight, dry, rust free and clean. I think it could be Original paint but may have had touch up/repaint (very good if it was, I see on slight paint line on a section of rubber gasket).
Original elderly owned passed away in 2013 and it was sold out of his estate. I have the pdf view on google map of address which actually shows pic of this car, pulled out of his garage (thanks to a fellow Ebay-er for tip!). Given the limited production and top condition, this will be a purchase you will not regret, ever. Truly great to drive- I have driven these models across county and on daily commutes, and once you are hooked there is nothing like these cars.
