Description

One of the very few 500E's left. Bought the car from I believe the 2nd owner in Richmond, VA in 2012. Since then the car has been in Tuscaloosa, AL. The car was always well taken care of, Shell Premium Fuel only, etc, always professionally maintained since I have owned it. Rear ended a Ford Explorer going about 20/25 mph in January and didnt have total coverage insurance so I have decided its time to let it go. Drove the car home (about 2 miles) from the accident and the engine and transmission appear, as far as I know, and according to my mechanic, to be ok. The transmission was replaced at 140,000 miles with a rebuilt one.
Just in the recent past have replaced all brake components, oil pressure sensor, and new headlight switch. Have spent a lot of $$$ on this car.
The car currently sits at my mechanics (The Mercedes Doctor) in Trussville, AL. He is an expert and has been taking care of the car for years, I have all the receipts to prove it. He has told me that he could fix the car for about $7000 (roughly $2000 for auto body and roughly $5000 for parts and labor.) Need the front core support straightened out and new radiator, condensor, fan blade, hood, etc. I have a set of Euro style headlights in the backseat that are still in the box that come with the car and could be used in the repair. (If you buy the car the Mercedes Doctor, Larry, could repair the car for you, just an idea)
I love this car and hate to see it go, but I am trying to get out of debt and get these school loans paid off :-( Looked up on Hagertys and the value of a fair condition 500E on average is now up to $18,000, good condition $27,000. Apologies, I had planned on getting the car fixed so before it got towed up to Mercedes Doctor I did not get a lot of pics of the interior, etc, but I can honestly tell you the interior is in good shape, no major wear at all, only minimal wear on drivers seat. The "good" picture is from about two years ago that I had saved on my phone. Fix this baby and feel that 322 hp throw you back in the seat, its an amazing feeling. I have the reserve at what I believe to be a low and fair price. This car is being sold AS-IS.
