Description

1968 Mercedes-Benz 280SL Roadster finished in Red with Black interior. a 2778cc straight 6 engine producing 180hp/177lb-ft of torque and backed by a 4-speed transmission. Mercedes-Benz succeeded in creating a reliable and comfortable car that would stand the test of time and become a desirable collector. It has a removable hardtop, four-wheel disc brakes, radio, and plush leather seats. The overall build quality and reliability that comes from the 280SL is outstanding. The Mercedes-Benz 280sl (model W113) is a two-seat roadster/coupe, introduced in 1968, and produced from 1968 through 1971. It replaced the 250 SL. Of the 23,885 W113 280 SLs produced, more than half were sold in the US.The bonnet, trunk lid, door skins and tonneau cover were made of aluminum to reduce weight. The comparatively short and wide chassis, combined with an excellent suspension, powerful brakes, and radial tires gave the 280SL superb handling for its time. The styling of the front, with its characteristic upright headlights and simple chrome grille, dominated by the large three-pointed star in the nose panel, paid homage to the then already legendary 300 SL roadster. For more information on this fabulous 1968 280SL, or any of our 30+ cabriolets, convertibles, drop-tops, roadsters, and volantes always in stock, contact one of our friendly and knowledgeable sales consultants or feel free to stop by our Bellevue, WA showroom - We Always Have 200+ of the West Coast's Most Exciting Luxury, Exotic, Sports and Collectible Cars on site at our 5-acre Bellevue, WA campus.
