1986 Mercedes-Benz 560 SL Hard Top Convertible
Description
The 1986 Mercedes-Benz 560 SL
My name is Al Rivera, and I am a broker. I have been hired by this fellow to sell his car for him. I am using my digital camera and the pictures are as I shot them. The pictures have not been altered, photo chopped, or manipulated in any way to make the car look nice. I want to start right off and mention to all of you that may be interested in this car, and bring to your attention, that THIS AUCTION HAS NO RESERVE!
Interesting that I sold this car to this gentleman in February of 2015, about 3 years ago. He has only driven it about 631 miles since he bought it. He originally bought the car, because when he was younger, the King of the Philippines, had one just like it and when he bought the car he felt like royalty. He is now moving back to the Philippines and cannot take the car with him. He loved the car and has taken good care of it over the years. The car drives great, such a cream puff. We had replaced the cloth convertible top before he took possession of the car and he told me that he never took the hard top off, So we took the top off for pictures, and the cloth convertible top still looks new, not a single spot on the top, its beautiful, I did notice the plastic windows a little crinkled from being folded so long, but nothing a couple of hours in the sun can't cure. The exterior is the nice light champagne color, the interior shows off the deep tan leather seats inside that make it breathtaking. The car has been fully maintained, has been garage kept and been a nice Sunny Southern California Car. Don't hesitate to ask any questions you want, we will do our best to answer. Thanks for looking, who knows, this car just might wind up in your driveway before you know it.
Some Interesting Notes
The little SL series was produced by Mercedes-Benz and manufactured in Germany. The years from 1985 to the end of 1989. Mercedes-Benz had produced about 49,347 SL's during that period. Seems like a very low figure. It was noted that these cars took longer to build, since, handcrafted cars were still in production at this time. New for 1985 was the 5.6 liter V-8 engine, and more a more beefed up front suspension, made the SL an attractive buy, especially driving on those back country roads. Sound like a well thought out sports car, to me.
